Could The Mets Really Carry Three Catchers???

Schnide is ready and it seems neither Castro or Omir are going anywhere. As best I can tell, none of the three plays another position. That's a big commitment to #2.

On the other hand Castro & Santos can be decent pinch hitters when you have a catcher to spare.

Worse ideas are out there. But there are a lot of options, including trading one of the three. It helps that the Schneid hits lefty.

Trade Schneider. You could get more for him than Castro. Of course, that means Castro might walk this fall and you're stuck with one catcher.
