Verizon Text Poll Question of the Day on CitiVision: What was the Mets' first home? The choices were Shea Stadium, Ebbets Field, the Polo Grounds. This is how Mets fans at Citi Field who participated answered: Shea Stadium: 7% Ebbets Field: 52% Polo Grounds: 41% That distant mournful noise you might have picked up during the broadcast was me crying. I wonder where the Text Generation got the idea that the Mets ever played in Ebbets Field.

We're still getting a LOT of look-sees at the new place, especially during the weekend games. In just 6 games at Citi, I've overheard an uncomfortable amount of conversations that started with "What's '37' mean? Speaking of Misappropriated Traditions 101: What was the "Sweet Caroline" reading today?

I was just going to ask, did they do Sweet Caroline today? Yesterday? I wonder if they only asked Shea, Polo, and some made up name what the %'s would have been.
