I think we need a sing-along

... something to get all our pessimistic views and negative energy out.

So today's assignment is to play add-a-verse with Leonard Cohen's 'Everybody Knows' using updated lyrics so as to bemoan to current NYM situation.
I'll start and anyone can just add on to it as they see fit.

Everybody knows that Delgado’s crippled everybody knows that Jose is lame Everybody knows that the bench is ancient and everybody knows that Omar’s to blame Everybody knows ‘bout the doc's malpractice it’s a lock just like death and taxes that’s how it goes when your season blows

Everybody knows not to go with J.J.
Everybody knows not to go with Green
Everybody knows not to pull the starter
But everybody can't manage this team
Everybody knows Kunz won't be the answer
And Muniz sucks now for the Buffalos
They don't throw like Johan throws
Everybody knows

Did we really have to pick a song from 1988 that I don't know? Was this song even popular?

I don't know it either. At first I thought it was that old chestnut about how everyone knows that an ant can't move a rubber tree plant.

Not really, it just happened to be the one that popped into my head.
I think I was listening to talk-radio yappings about how "everybody knows" that the season is over [because we know more than the doctors do ... and that Reyes will never walk again ... or that Wright will get hit by a comet this morning ... or that Fred secretly wants the Mets to fail ... etc] and the "everybody knows" phrase planted itself in my head which led to the song. Plus, I knew that there are enough Leonard Cohen fans here to make it workable.
Or maybe the idea sucks because I reached too far and the thread will quickly die a painful death, I'm OK with it either way. I suppose if I knew how to find and attach YouTube videos it might help but I didn't think of it.

so while I'm here:

Everybody knows that the pen is leaking everybody knows Jerry bunts too much Everybody knows Ollie’s just a head case so don’t go get your panties in a bunch Everybody knows it’s beyond discussion that we’re due for another Church concussion and a broken nose as the DL grows

Omigosh!
Wright will get hit by a comet this morning?
And Mike Francessa didn't alert us yet?
How did you find out if not from the Oracle?

Pump up the Volume. Not a very good movie. But 28% better than you probably think it is.

Aren't there only two decent Christian Slater movies?

'Heathers' and 'True Romance'

TransMonk

Yup. I would put Pump Up the Volume in the decent category. Everything else is pretty much crap.

Soupy --- like Tommy Boy and, I dunno, Ace Ventura the key is low expectations --- so rent it, but tell yourself we all told you it sucked.

I'd add Broken Arrow to that list.

I'll say three times as good as Broken Arrow.

"Broken Arrow" is watchable... I wouldn't quite go so far as to call it "decent." (I'll afford "Pump Up the Volume" that courtesy-- not least because of heavy Samantha Mathis flesh-age. Grrrrrow.)

And oh yeah--

I don't know the song, this is all I could muster ...

Everybody knows not to pull a hammy
Everybody knows Jose is all washed up
Everybody knows who's the real trade bait
And everybody knows Cleon's a gup.
Everybody knows Cleon ain't got the answers
And Grote and Ashie don't either
He don't post because he knows
He just posts 'cause he blows

Weak moment.

Does that mean you cop to being Cleon and Grote?
