...needs to get smacked in the head. Valdez thrown out at third. That plus Cora thrown out stealing in the third and still too many outs on the bases.

You're fucking out, Carlos Pena, Ben Zobrist, and Gabe Gross.

Evan Longoria leadoff "double" in the 4th (read: Reed gets it, but Sheff doesn't) gets wasted, thanks to two Pelf strikeouts and a dribbler.

D-Dad sitting in the Mo's Zone in the top of the 5th sighting!

Just incase I ever need a reminder that not all stupid baserunning is done by Mets player, Crawford just got gunned out trying to steal 3rd with nobody out, Longoria at the plate, and Pena on deck.

PiggiesTomatoes
Jun 21 2009 12:58 PM

What just happened? Switched to golf and the Mets are down 4-2!

LeiterWagnerFasterStrongr
Jun 21 2009 01:01 PM

Hell of a throw from Schneid on that. Of course, it helped that Crawford slid right into Wright's tag... and that he ran in the first place.

Lineout to center ends it, and caps the hit-parade damage at 4 runs, heading into the home fifth.

Holy shit, Brian Schneider is hitting bombs.

Yeah, that was off the figurative reservation... and over the figurative next one.

An extra-large stein down the bar to you, Herr Schneider.

Parnell's been falling apart.

Dammit.

Kong76
Jun 21 2009 01:37 PM

How many times can Parnell crash and burn again after pitching so well?

Please, no one answer.

OlerudOwned

Manny Acta, clap clap clapclapclap.

I understand that Parnell still needs to get innings in when he's struggling, but why are those innings always in tight, late situations? The lack of adaptability on Jerry's part can be stunning sometimes.

Wheels coming off. Wasting Schneider's homer.

This team sucks and is going nowhere..let it rain

Edgy..the Reyes & Delgado never play a regular season game as a Mets again bet..

$20 to the community chest each?? Pool keeps the money regardless of winner

I should add an Omar fired..but..

Gotta give a shout out to Beltran who made a beautiful sliding catch to end
the top o' the seventh with the bases loaded when rain delay play resumed.

Uh - oh, they're in big trouble now. Bases loaded.

Brick from Beltran up the middle.

Brick from Wright to left.

We're building something.

One series win this month (vs. Washington)

I remember Bobby V stating that winning series was far more important than just about any measurement (Home-Road, Lefty-Righty) in determining a quality club.

Not a great game. But it was interesting watching it in the Modell's Clubhouse. The vantage point is similar to bottom part of the picnic area in Shea, but from right field rather than left.

Here are a couple of shots I took of the grounds crew getting the tarp down during the rain delay -

Thinking this when this thread went up. The all-caps sealed it. I had half posted a couple of such comments but deleted.

The turning point of the game for me is Jerry Manuel pinch-hitting for Stokes with two out and the bases empty.
