Of course the opposite is what happened.

As long as Beltran and Wright are back to back. Such concepts seem to be out of Manuel's grasp.

Wright is leading the league in on-base percentaage and opening up his lead, now at 11 points. But he's 12th in the league in runs scored. And it's not like we're getting it back at the other end, because he's 24th in RBI.
Yeah, I know he's gone through a bout or two of the whiffsies, but if he's off the charts in OBP, is running (somewhat) successfully, and has only four GiDPs, it's time to move him back where he belongs.
We may be watching one of our all-time great Met seasons going to waste here.

The problem now is there are too many B-list celebrity types in the lineup. I think they should send Fartinez back to AAA, and let Church play every day, for starters.
Tatis/Murphy as the everyday 1B is just bad. Howie Rose said on the radio yesterday that the two of them as a blahtoon 1B were hitting all of .161 since Delgado went down.
Too many #7/#8 style hitters, not enough #4/5 types. No way to fix that with this roster, with Sheff having come back to Earth and Santos looking less and less like Ramon Castro by the day.
They are missing two of the four no-doubt best hitters on the team.
As my high school principal used to say, you can't polish a turd.

I agree with fman , Sheffield went from being a nice supplementary bat to the bat and it's caught up with the team.
I guess Fernando Martinez is learning while he's here but jeez Moyer made him look terrible last night , poor kid.

I think a 3-4-5-6 of Wright-Beltran-Sheffield-Church-of-the-Poison-Mind is fine.
Castillo snd Cora at the top concerns me a little more.
Injuries are a reality, and I'm not prepared to pull parts out of one end of the car to trade for parts to fix the other end. That may just be me, but I'm more concerned with the way Jerry is using the parts he has.

David Wright, btw, second in the league in STEALS and first in OBP, maybe HE should be batting 1st/2nd. I'd bat him 3rd personally.

Sheffield.

Sheff at DH, with Reed in left, and Murph at 1st.

Knew Sheff would DH today. I agree about Fartinez, they ought to send him back down, Church everyday is fine. Instead of calling up a bat for FMart, call up pitching help. With what the Mets have, this would probably be the IDEAL lineup:
1- Castillo 2- Cora 3- Wright 4- Beltran 5- Sheffield 6- Church 7- Murphy/Tatis 8- Schneider/Santos 9- Pitcher/DH
I think that Argenis Reyes might be getting the call soon. I just have that feeling, but then again, why would they need him, just a hunch. Broadway might get some work in the Bullpen possibly, or that guy they acquired from the Giants (the name slips my mind).

Yes, they could use another middle infielder in Kingsport.
