Get on the Bus: Gay Dame IGT July 1

John Cougar Lunchbucket
Jul 01 2009 08:54 AM

Jerry orders the team to ride together from their hotel to the park via bus. Fartinez however left his Metrocard in his back pocket and may have to cab it after all.

Jerry also threatened yesterday to give Sheff and Wright the day off vs. Gallardo.

So, let's get psyched.

I knew mass transit was the answer. Jerry always listens to me, but weeks too late.

He's just following the time-tested method for creating team unity:

1. Ride Bus Together
2. Rally Hats
3. Shave heads
4. Grow beards/goatees
5. Dry Hump Mascot

Let's go already, I am antsy.

Listening at work via MLB Gameday Audio. Wayne Hagin has already annoyed me, before the first pitch is thrown.

O'Nora is giving the Mets some calls here.

If you believe Gameday, Gallardo has a 12-inch plus break on his curve, but no lateral movement on any of his pitches.

I could see you disagreeing if he was hitting .340 but not .240 He obviously is not a gloveman and he has made many baserunning whoops this season already....Maybe I am missing something

No, the Brewers are fielding a major league team today; Pelf has four K's.

Enjoy the bloggers. Murphy and Evans are who we've got.

Unforutnately, they have taken over for Delgado, albeit a year earlier than planned. Injuries hurt. Compounding injuries hurt more.

seawolf17

I still like Murphy; I think he could still be special. He just seems overmatched right now, thrust into a crucial role when his bat and glove might not be entirely ready. That's okay; he'll get better.

Evans will be dealt soon enough.

I'm not. I'm presenting what's available as evidence. It's MLB's tool, so I don't see why it shouldn't reflect poorly on them if it discredits their ump.

They're sending Pelfrey back out, right?

LeiterWagnerFasterStrongr
Jul 01 2009 02:04 PM

He's getting a bit of help on the right side (catcher left) of the plate, it seems, but Gallardo's curves are wiffletastic. Two more Ks in the 7th makes 12 (!).

On the plus side, he's at 114 pitches. (Pelf at 89.)

[And no, I'm not at work today.]

NICE play by Schneider, with the quick throw to second after Hart misses a second bunt... and by Cora, who sneaks in behind Fielder on cat feet and makes a snappy throw to nail Fielder at third.

Fielder shouldn't have been drifting off second. Maybe the balk swelled his head.

Maybe that was the plan all along.
