Bonus Gay Dame @ Pittsburgh 7/2 IGT
John Cougar Lunchbucket Jul 01 2009 08:33 PM |
Maybe you forgot: But the Mets play at 12:30 Thursday at Pittsburgh in a makeup game. This was the game rained out June 3 -- potentially preventing the Pirates from having made it a 4-game sweep. Anyway, our visit there started all our troubles last month and we owe them.

That sort of enigmatic behavior just guarantees a comng deal to the Mets, doesn't it?
|
G-Fafif Jul 01 2009 09:08 PM |
Twice in three years I've had part of series I've KTE'd rained out and made up later. The other one was what would become known as the Joel Pineiro Game...the original, I mean. This is the second time it's happened.

We hung on to beat Milwaukee's best pitcher, we're getting a Pittsburgh team weakened in the short term by trades, and Phillie is starting a minor leaguer against us Friday.
|
Frayed Knot Jul 01 2009 10:11 PM |
I had forgotten this was a day game too. Two in a row.
|
MFS62 Jul 02 2009 07:18 AM |
The players always like a day off. So when they have to play a make-up game, they just want to fly in, play the game and get it over.

Those two A. LaRoches make box score pasting for Pirates games a pain in the butt. I wish one of those brothers had been involved in the trade to the Natinals.

Oops, maybe not. I see that Nieve is scheduled to pitch on Saturday.
|
Nymr83 Jul 02 2009 02:24 PM |

almost without a doubt. the mets are paying Perez too much to pitch in the minors for long, the first Redding screwup was bound to get him exiled, Nieve might have had a little more leash but he was also on the hook if Redding pitched well and he didnt
|
Edgy DC Jul 02 2009 02:26 PM |
I've always been a supporter of reaching into your starting rotation if you run out of relievers. You can call up another starter later if necessary.

Edgy DC Jul 02 2009 02:27 PM |
Tatis may get a swing at the cycle also.

If the Mets were smart, they'd get Redding off the roster tonight (minors, DFA, phantom injury) and call up a pitcher for the next few days. Frankie can't go tomorrow so they're short in the BP. When it's Redding's turn, send the guy down and recall Niese or Figueroa (who was rained out from starting tonight).
