A Tale of Three Innings

Frayed Knot

Look, we didn't hit for shit and, because of that, may not have won any of these anyway.
BUUUUTTTTT, each game was broken open by a single bad inning from which we were never able to recover. Plus, in only one inning did we actually make them earn their runs.

* Friday's 4-run 2nd:
- Infield 1B + throwing error on Wright (and it would have been an out if thrown well even though scored hit + E)
- Bloop 2B (OK, noting you could do about it, but it still sucked)
- 1B to the opposing pitcher
- E6 (Cora) on a sure GiDP ball
- E3 (Evans) - this was the one which caused me to throw the crossword book I was doing across the room

* At least on Saturday they hit their way to 4 runs - although it would have been nice it we had made them take more than 4 pitches to do so.

* And then Sunday there was the 3-run 1st set-up by the bad decision/execution by Murphy on the 2nd batter of the game, and followed up by the GiDP throw not handled.

And yet somehow all the runs for the entire weekend got tallied as earned.

Just not good enough especially with the players that are missing to give them extra outs.

They scored 44 runs in this season series , how many were unearned ....Mets scored 17....I am wondering if their unearned runs are more than the Mets total...not that it means anything but this was a very odd season series
