So what's the ruling?

... on one of those deals where the batter/runner is running inside the baseline on a bunt (or swinging bunt)? I mean I know the guy's out and all (assuming you get the call) but does the runner(s) get sent back to his/their original base? ... I think they do. Point is, it would have been a ballsy play on Schneider's part to intentionally drill Corey Hart on that 9th inning play in order to keep the tying run out of scoring position because Hart was so far inside the baseline that the umps couldn't have missed it even if they were wearing sunglasses at night. I'm not advocating trying it necessarily, but it would be a helluva play if you pull it off.

imo you cant do it because you cant trust the umps to make the call.

They also might invoke some "you've got to try to avoid the runner in order to claim the runner interfered" business, sort of ike having to try to avoid a pitch in order to get awarded first in compensaton for your pain and suffering.
