With the 8th pick in the 2009 NBA draft, the New York Knicks select.... Jordan Hill , a 6'10" forward from Arizona.

The Knicks got busy after drafting Hill, they traded Richardson for 7'0 Center Darko Milicic, the #2 pick in the 2002 draft who has never lived up to that spot. He also has an expiring contract.

I've been reading some good things about him, the guy in the Daily News today thinks it's the right move. Walsh has one one eye on next off season I would think.

Vic , I am confused as to WTF is going on with David Lee. I thought he would be snapped up by now , do the Knicks want him?
|
Nymr83 Jul 17 2009 11:18 AM |
|
the NBA should just extend the roster 2-3 spots, eliminate the (un)injured reserve, and make an injured list that requires anyone put on it to be out for the year. As for David Lee, I think the Knicks would like him back, but only at the "right" price, a price which doesn't interfere with the "summer of Lebron"
|
Vic Sage Jul 20 2009 10:06 AM |
They want Lee back, and they've made him a "qualifying offer" to insure that they have matching rights, and the right to draft compensation should they lose him, but they're not going to bid against themselves. They seem him as a "complimentary" rather than "core" player (i strongly disagree).

Farmer Ted Jul 20 2009 12:01 PM |
Rumblings about Steve Nash going to the Knicks. That joke of a rumor put to rest with PHX giving Stevie an extra $22 for a two-year extension.

I like what i saw from Toney Douglas last night. They should give him the ball and let him run the show. Its not like Chris Duhon is going to be part of the future. Douglas / Chandler / Gallinari / Lee / Hill with Robinson, Landry and Milicic coming off the bench. Hughes, Duhon, Harrington and Jeffries can sit on the bench and watch. Curry can stay home.

You know it's a strange (and not in a good way) year in NY sports when the Yanx have more November wins* than the Knicks, Nets, Giants & Jets combined. * OK that's probably not true anymore thanks to this latest Knicks "streak" - but the fact that it was for most of the month says a lot of things about a lot of things.

The Nets may tie the NBA record for most losses to start the season tonight (at Lakers) but, if they do, it'll be without their coach. Lawrence Frank fired today - some assistant replaces him for now. He had been the longest tenured head coach in the NBA East and something like 3rd or 4th overall.
|
G-Fafif Nov 29 2009 10:52 PM Re: Knicks still suck 2009-2010 |
What the Nets with Frank was an inverse Willie Randolph: Not wait 'til the West Coast trip was over to deliver the inevitable blow. Any inept team can be 3-14. It takes something special to go 0-17.

Knicks have won 5 out of 6 including the last four in a row. Beat Phoenix at home (by 27!!), smushed at Orlando, win at Atlanta, wins home against the Nets and Portland, and then last night won at New Orleans by 17. None of those teams they beat are awful, except of course the Nets. It's a sad state of affairs when I am pleased with an 8-15 record. Of course none of this matters, it's all about next year.

Nymr83 Feb 18 2010 07:29 PM Re: Knicks still suck 2009-2010 |
The Knicks did it today, giving up Hill, 2 future first round picks, Jeffries, and Hughes for Mcgrady and his expiring contract. depending on where hte cap is set the Knicks, under the cap for the first time since 1996, may be able to offer TWO maximum contracts this offseason. If this means the Knicks end up with Lebron and Wade or Bosh and Wade then its worth it, screw the picks... but what happens if the big free agents stay where they are? the Knicks have lost two more first rounders and their #8 overall pick from this past year.
|
