Mets
Rockin' Doc Sep 11 2005 02:08 PM |
cooby, I'm going to lay in the hammock with an ice cold Tecate. So if the Mets don't pull this game out, it isn't my fault. I'm doing all I can for the cause.
Valadius Sep 11 2005 02:16 PM |
Play ball!!!!!!

If it works, I will personally write a letter to your partners and staff and tell them you are going to have to have the rest of the baseball season off so you can lie in your hammock!

I could care less if it's over for us.I wanna kick the piss out of these flyover country pumped-up bumpkins and their know-it-all, vegan, pet-obsessed, shades-wearing manager.
Valadius Sep 11 2005 02:18 PM |
Reyes leads off the game with a single.
Valadius Sep 11 2005 02:22 PM |
Reyes stole second. What's that now, 51 on the year?
Valadius Sep 11 2005 02:24 PM |
D-Wright walks. 1st and 2nd, 2 outs, for Marlon Anderson.
Edgy DC Sep 11 2005 02:26 PM |
Nice look, Morris.
Valadius Sep 11 2005 02:32 PM |
Except for three minor differences, this inning was EXACTLY what I said the usual Mets inning and the reason why we're not winning is.
Edgy DC Sep 11 2005 02:33 PM Edited 1 time(s), most recently on Sep 11 2005 02:33 PM |
Cards cutting to commercial break with "Stepping Out."
Rotblatt Sep 11 2005 02:33 PM |
You know what's genius? Batting Marlon Anderson fifth.
Zvon Sep 11 2005 02:36 PM |

The Mets have donned New York emercency service department caps again.
Zvon Sep 11 2005 02:38 PM |
Joe Jackson or ELO? (like I have to ask)
Rotblatt Sep 11 2005 02:46 PM |
Petey in and out of trouble again. Even without a fastball, I love watching him pitch.
Zvon Sep 11 2005 02:47 PM |
I like that touch. Reyes shows hustle
Zvon Sep 11 2005 02:49 PM |
DAMNNNNNNNNNNN.
Valadius Sep 11 2005 02:50 PM |
Pedro got a hit! That doesn't happen too often.
Valadius Sep 11 2005 02:50 PM |
Someone has get through to WWSB: STOP STEALING THIRD.
Edgy DC Sep 11 2005 02:51 PM |
His judgment attempting to steal third was Strawberry-esque.
Rotblatt Sep 11 2005 02:52 PM |
That's just dumb, Jose. Not that Matsui & Beltran are world beaters, but yuo've gotta give them a chance to bring you home.
Zvon Sep 11 2005 02:56 PM |
nice throw by Castro
Valadius Sep 11 2005 02:58 PM |
Nice avatar Z.
Edgy DC Sep 11 2005 03:06 PM |
Musial's in the booth.
JJ.
Zvon Sep 11 2005 03:08 PM |
thnx V Stan the Man? nah, he's just 100 yrs old.
Valadius Sep 11 2005 03:11 PM |
Musial is the greatest living ballplayer. Not too many people give him enough credit, though.
Rockin' Doc Sep 11 2005 03:11 PM |
Zvon - "Stan the Man?
Edgy DC Sep 11 2005 03:13 PM |
Albert just stole second at 3/4 speed and ends up at third when the ball skips into center.
Valadius Sep 11 2005 03:13 PM |
Fucking Castro.
Valadius Sep 11 2005 03:17 PM |
JAKE-MONSTER!!!
Edgy DC Sep 11 2005 03:17 PM |
Pedro blows his way out of the inning. Rally song time. Time has come today
Edgy DC Sep 11 2005 03:18 PM |
It works! We have a run!
Valadius Sep 11 2005 03:18 PM |
Castro atones for his earlier fuck-up.
Zvon Sep 11 2005 03:20 PM |
there ya go.
Valadius Sep 11 2005 03:21 PM |
Do we commit to the Jake-Monster at first?
Edgy DC Sep 11 2005 03:22 PM |
Fun thing about the Cardinal booth-men... they're still terrified of Beltran.
Zvon Sep 11 2005 03:22 PM |
Edgy does it again! (good song too)
Valadius Sep 11 2005 03:22 PM |
Matsui beaned by Morris, here's Beltran.
Rotblatt Sep 11 2005 03:22 PM |
Looked to me like Reyes should have had Castro's throw and he just plain missed it.
Zvon Sep 11 2005 03:24 PM |
Hes a lefty, hes young, he's comes cheap. Weve seen he can hit the ball, and with power. Id do it in a heartbeat.
Valadius Sep 11 2005 03:25 PM |
Of course they are - look what he did during the playoffs against them last year.
Edgy DC Sep 11 2005 03:27 PM |
Cardinal trivia: Who did the Cardinals trade to the Mets to get Jose Oquendo?
Zvon Sep 11 2005 03:28 PM |
Bonds is gonna play?
Valadius Sep 11 2005 03:29 PM |
Oquendo stayed with the Cards for a while, didn't he?
Edgy DC Sep 11 2005 03:29 PM |
I understood the why. Luck changing --- a hard hit hit-and-run shot goes to the re-positioned Reyes and the Mets get a double-play. |
Zvon Sep 11 2005 03:30 PM |
Coleman?
Edgy DC Sep 11 2005 03:31 PM |
Jackie Joyner-Kersee tears off the number counting down the remaining games at Busch.
Zvon Sep 11 2005 03:32 PM |
yes. And he played everywhere on the field. Great utility guy.
Valadius Sep 11 2005 03:33 PM |
Wright with the ground-rule double!!!
Valadius Sep 11 2005 03:34 PM |
Come on Victor, bring him home.
Rotblatt Sep 11 2005 03:34 PM |
Wright with a lead-off double and Anderson drops down a sac bunt.
Valadius Sep 11 2005 03:35 PM |
Stupid Diaz.
Valadius Sep 11 2005 03:37 PM |
JAKE-MONSTER DOES IT AGAIN!!!!!
Zvon Sep 11 2005 03:38 PM |
I agree that you just dont fill that slot without adjusting the lineup. Even if the Mets are out of it ya have to go thru the motions of playing to win. And the guy who should be batting 5th (he or Diaz) drives in the run. Nice rip Jacobs :D
Valadius Sep 11 2005 03:40 PM |
First and third, two outs for... Pedro.
Edgy DC Sep 11 2005 03:41 PM |
I don't like him there either, but I don't think he's just filling the spot.
Valadius Sep 11 2005 03:43 PM |
Oh well, what're you gonna do. You can't expect Pedro to get a hit with two outs and two men on.
Edgy DC Sep 11 2005 03:45 PM |
Answer to the trivia question:
Edgy DC Sep 11 2005 03:48 PM |
Pedro's cap (and I assume the others) has an adjustable strap.
Zvon Sep 11 2005 03:51 PM |
hey! just like the ones you and i wear. Another great met trade, huh edge?

MFS62 Sep 11 2005 04:03 PM |
Just a thought.
Valadius Sep 11 2005 04:05 PM |
Boom-Boom Beltran!!!!!
Zvon Sep 11 2005 04:05 PM |
I have considered that and, of course, I say yes. TriBoom
Valadius Sep 11 2005 04:10 PM |
16 triples. If he gets on a streak like he did early... Lance Johnson's record is in jeopardy.
Zvon Sep 11 2005 04:12 PM |
agreed
Zvon Sep 11 2005 04:16 PM |
Graves getting loose....ha.
Valadius Sep 11 2005 04:16 PM |
Pedro's getting another inning.
Zvon Sep 11 2005 04:21 PM |
Ill go with that. Anyone reaches , yank him.....whoops...single. Okay, ill amend that. Guy gets in scoring position, yank him. SHIT double and run scores. this is happening all 2 fast. okay.........whew,.yank him
Valadius Sep 11 2005 04:22 PM |
Ok... how did he score from first? And what the hell is Popsicle doing in left?
Valadius Sep 11 2005 04:25 PM |
La Russa's pulling his whole bench out of his ass.
Zvon Sep 11 2005 04:27 PM |
See, there a difference between seasonal fatigue, which we are talking about in the other thread, and a 9 inning game fatigue.
Zvon Sep 11 2005 04:28 PM |
glad he sat Pojols, tho. HA.
Edgy DC Sep 11 2005 04:29 PM |
I saw a guy do that at a performance art show in the village once.
Zvon Sep 11 2005 04:30 PM |
ewwwwwwwwww...
Zvon Sep 11 2005 04:31 PM |
did he pull out baseball players or an actual park bench?
Rotblatt Sep 11 2005 04:31 PM |
I love watching Petey.
Edgy DC Sep 11 2005 04:31 PM |
Call it now.
Edgy DC Sep 11 2005 04:32 PM |
Let's run on this backup catcher now.
Rotblatt Sep 11 2005 04:33 PM |
He goes with Looper. No question.
Zvon Sep 11 2005 04:33 PM |

Centerfield Sep 11 2005 04:34 PM |
Now he steals second and goes to third on the throwing error.
Edgy DC Sep 11 2005 04:35 PM |
Making Matsui feel at home, I see.
Rotblatt Sep 11 2005 04:35 PM |
Are you serious, Zvon?
Zvon Sep 11 2005 04:35 PM |
probly the case. Cuz its still his job. Maybe the Mets can get afew dozen insurance runs.........shit you see that play by Maybry?
Centerfield Sep 11 2005 04:36 PM |
Wow, heads up baserunning by Kaz not to get doubled off.
Zvon Sep 11 2005 04:36 PM |

Zvon Sep 11 2005 05:01 PM |
good game guys
MFS62 Sep 11 2005 05:09 PM |
They used to be a catcher named Hal A Smith.
Elster88 Sep 12 2005 09:07 AM |
I coulda sworn one of the reasons why I was told Castro should start next year was his stellar defense.
Edgy DC Sep 12 2005 09:31 AM |
Remember VACAtE .
seawolf17 Sep 12 2005 09:36 AM |
Castro's been an offensive catcher his whole career; he's not bad defensively, but he's no Gold Glover either. He hit 27 homers in 390 AB with Calgary in 2001, with an OBP of .393 and an OPS of 1.021.
Elster88 Sep 12 2005 09:37 AM |
His stats from the minors from four years ago are largely irrelevant, IMHO.
seawolf17 Sep 12 2005 09:48 AM |
No, they're relevant, because it shows that he can hit, given full-time duty. He hasn't really been given that chance. He went .259 .338 .569 .907 with four homers and 16 RBI in 58 AB in August; that's respectable near full-time work.
Elster88 Sep 12 2005 09:49 AM |
They show that he can hit in the minors. They tell nothing about his ability to hit in the majors. _____________________________ This post had the designation 158) Mark Carreon
seawolf17 Sep 12 2005 09:53 AM |
I'm just saying it shows something. I'm not saying that if you gave him 390 ABs right now he'd do the same thing, but he's "only" 30 years old, so he could.
