Castro?

I guess Willie is afraid that Mike might slip on the wet ground and pull his, uh, wrist.

I missed a kabooooom!

is it too late?

Jacobs goes yard.

KC
Sep 16 2005 07:43 PM

Yay, let's start the Pedro never liked pitching to Mike stuff again - someone
start a thread.

Jacobs KABOOMS a 2 run homer in his first AB against Smoltz.

2-sniffle through two at big Shea.

Zvon
Sep 16 2005 07:49 PM

whoaa

what a slide.
Reyes almost slid into left field,lol...
double for Reyes.
Damn, he dont run-he flies!

Zvon
Sep 16 2005 07:53 PM

ESPN is showing the game until the rain stops in the Boston game.

Zvon

shoot--
they switched to the Yankee game.

These are the things that bug me just as much as the fact the Mets have lost like 13 of the last 15, in,,,,,....wait for it....

SEPTEMBER!

What gets me is the NY newspapers are back to the old 4 to 6 pages for the yanks and 1 to 2 pages for the Mets. That pisses me off more than Looper.

Sidenote: in another example of littlehitlerism by umpires Randy johnson is tossed in the 2nd inning of the yankee game, by(what looked to me) a hasty ump who turns reactions into confrontations.

Zvon
Sep 16 2005 08:13 PM

games on the Superstation too.
kool beans.

have to listen to these kiss ass Braves announcers tho.

KC
Sep 16 2005 08:36 PM

3-sniffle through six.

Mets got another run on a Reyes single, steal, Matsui sac to third, and then
Carlos gets an infield hit on the shallow playing infield with Smoltz slow to
cover first base on the ball hit that way.

Edgy DC
Sep 16 2005 08:45 PM

I'm just getting home now and haven't tuned in or read this thread.

The Mets better be winning, and I mean a Looper-proof lead.

Edgy DC
Sep 16 2005 08:46 PM

Well, all right!

Zvon
Sep 16 2005 08:47 PM

nice small ball.

Diaz singles & steals and Castro drives him in with a lil poke to left.

Edgy DC
Sep 16 2005 08:50 PM

Pedro pitching. Ralphie in the booth.

I'm on Cloud Eight!

KC
Sep 16 2005 08:51 PM

4-sniffle through seven.

How cool would it be to sit next to Ralph Kiner on a four hour plane ride if
you could bend his ear and get him to talk baseball?

KC
Sep 16 2005 08:53 PM

Pedro strikes out the side in the eighth.

Edgy DC
Sep 16 2005 08:54 PM

Whiffs the side in the eighth.

Let. Him. Close.

KC
Sep 16 2005 08:55 PM

Looper.

Sorry, it slipped out.

Id bet pedro goes all 9.

From what Im reading, Im glad i missed the last few games.
Cept for Floyds grandKaboomer, looks like I saved myself alot of heartbreak.

9th inning errors, Looper, Willies great stratagies, Peterson wizmatic mound visits.......

Edgy DC
Sep 16 2005 09:02 PM

Why wasn't Matsui able to get a slide in on that DP attempt?

Edgy DC
Sep 16 2005 09:03 PM

Pedro coming. Back. Out.

Ralph with jetlag?
...........i dunno.

it must not have been an honorable thing to do.

Shit-Furcal rockets one for a double.

Let Martinez either close it or lose it.

NOOOOO LOOPER

KC
Sep 16 2005 09:07 PM

Furcal starts off the ninth with a double, then Giles singles, Jones boys
coming up - drama time.

Edgy DC
Sep 16 2005 09:08 PM

Victor Zambrano up in the bullpen.

Zvon
Sep 16 2005 09:09 PM

YESSSSSS
Ks Chipper.

I can handle Zambrano, if it comes to that.

Edgy DC
Sep 16 2005 09:10 PM

Gets Chip with an 89-MPH fastball.

Not like Chipper to go down looking like that, but he knows the tying run is behind him.

MFS62
Sep 16 2005 09:11 PM

Its that infamous 100 pitch "wall".
Pedro had 102 through 8.

Later

Edgy DC
Sep 16 2005 09:12 PM

Golly.

Zvon
Sep 16 2005 09:13 PM

Ks the other Jones for 10k.

And i dont think he's even throwin in the 90s.

Pedro is DA MAN

Rotblatt
Sep 16 2005 09:13 PM

Andruuuw down swinging!

Rotblatt
Sep 16 2005 09:15 PM

Why did he walk LaRouche?

Petey, why would you do that?

Edgy DC
Sep 16 2005 09:15 PM

Walks LaRoche who had whiffed thrice.

Francouer flies out to semi-deep left to end it.

Zvon
Sep 16 2005 09:17 PM

whew. I can take the drama from a guy I have confidence in.
And if he loses it,.....I just tip my hat and say nice shot man.

But pedro comes thru and completes the game.

Now thats what Im talkin about.

Rotblatt
Sep 16 2005 09:17 PM

We win?

We win!!!

Hurray!!!

Remember that time I wanted to bench Petey for the rest of the season?

I was wrong.

Holy shit, what a great ending to come home to.

KC
Sep 16 2005 09:20 PM

>>>Andruuuw down swinging!<<<

Maybe. I like the way they didn't show the above home plate camera angle
on that one. Actually, I didn't like it at all. They love showing that, and sel-
ective use of it in what is a meaningless game makes me wonder about
who's pulling the production strings of the broadcasts.

Nice outing by Petey ... nice feeling (for a day) for us Mets' fans.

Zvon
Sep 16 2005 09:23 PM

good game!

That makes Pety 15-7 :D

Rotblatt
Sep 16 2005 09:23 PM

You know what I love about Petey? He never gives up. He's always in there, pitching his little heart out.

I hope the rest of the Mets get all riled up from Petey's performance tonight and it carries through the rest of the season.

If anything could, you'd think it would be this.

Of course, I said that about Piazza's comeback HR too, and I was wrong there.

I was thinking the same thing. If he'd have lost it, at least HE'D have lost it

If I could get him to clear his throat, pretty cool.

Pedro's second complete game shutout in five year. He had one last year too. I hope he can pitch this way next year.

Ralph was kind of hard to follow tonight because the crowd was so loud. Plus Fran sounded like he has a cold.

Edgy DC
Sep 16 2005 09:36 PM

I imagine Looper was hoping not to get the call.

Sep 16 2005 09:37 PM

Not half as hard as I was

Sep 16 2005 09:38 PM

I think it would've been cool if you got the call, Cooby.

Nothing like a 2hr 5 min game.
Yanx/Jays started at the same time and were only in the 5th when ours ended. American League baseball suxx.

OK, who else (besides me) almost jumped out the window when Francoeur first made contact there in the 9th?
That was justbarely out on the end of his bat.

"Ralph was kind of hard to follow tonight because the crowd was so loud"

FSNY/MSG def mix the crowd sounds too high. On those few occasions when I actually want to hear what the crew is saying I try turning up the sound ... and then realize that that doesn't work because it just makes the background noise louder too.

Sep 16 2005 09:59 PM

Matsui's career OPS is up to .701, .657 on the year.
