Isn't there something odd...

... about the rule that allows a team to sign an underage overseas player as long as they don't allow him to play in the US until he's no longer a minor?

Now, I don't really think signing underage guys to play baseball is explicitly exploitative (and say that ten times fast), but if it is by MLB's standards or US labor code or whatever it is that keeps 16-year-olds from being allowed to play in the US, then it should be in the Dominican as well.

It's like outsourcing exploitation.

While you're waiting for that to change, please assemble this here puzzle: It's 5 billion peices and they're all the same color, but by the time you're finished we'll surely be on our way to granting the same protections to foreign labor we extend our own.

Seriously this won't ever change. The union doesn't want them and management doesn't want the union to want them. It will take the power of a thousand Borases.
