Evans shuffles off.

We can add another thing that will survive along with rats and cockroaches a nuclear meltdown.....A.Reyes.

That must be a mistake: it's a line-up from the first week of ST.

Argenis Reyes batting seventh? Seriously?

Take two-by-four.
Apply J. Manuel.
Repeat until Argenis Reyes is no longer in lineup.

But on the plus side... we've got an outfield defense of Spidermen! (Relatively.)

Maybe Castillo's a little balky.

guess Church is outta the lineup.

This will not help my 1890s Orioles Slap-Chop fantasy come to fruition.

Hope that called third strike wasn't too stressful to Votto. Hate to see him on the DL again. Does a third trip for stress signify PTSD?

Methead
Jul 10 2009 06:03 PM

Votto's close to getting a middle name that starts with F

I guess he wasn't stressed out all that much.

**moved from trade thread*

Opposite field HR to left by Votto.

Maybe Hojo should cork some bats for the Mets.

Wright can't make a decent throw when he has to think about it.
Troublesome sometimes, 4 1/2 tool player.

Is it just my imagination or are the bottom half of these innings each taking about 45 seconds to complete?

Kong76
Jul 10 2009 06:43 PM

Not to be gross, but I used the bathroom and the Reds were up.

An adventure in every somewhat well hit fly ball!

Edgy DC

Consecutive numbers in the outfield 16-17-18.

In response to your last two posts, aren't you glad you got that out of your system?

Aflac trivia question. ONly players to make the all star t4eam from both the Mets and Reds.

Got to be Seaver and Franco, but I'll throw Pat Zachry as my dark horse.

Nice bunt hit by Reyes.

Gary thinking that Boisclair was the last Francophonic Met.

Come on. Nady, Soler, Paquette. Probably a half dozen more.

Franco is not Francophonic. Odd, that.

Fuck you, Joey Votto.

Blah. Murphy tries to get a rally started with a sharp single, but three FCs in a row add up to nothing.

If Wright gets on, go to Shef.

Watching Jerry on the post game, I wish he could bottle and sell whatever
he's on 'cause I need a new drug.

It's been a long time since I have not enjoyed watching the Mets , this team has done that though. Was the Howe era this bad?, I don't think so but maybe it was.

What was that, five balls out of the infield?

They did this with groundouts in another inning, too. Was there some sort of beer-frame-type contest afoot?

An unusual amount of choppers back to the box, it seemed.

Plus Phillips at 2nd had like 76 assists (I may need to recount but that's pretty close I think)

Cora came to the plate 70 times and six other guys had one each.

Are we all aware this team can't score because Cora can't hit?

Well, there's the Wright situation also that's a bugger.

Yeah, that's the problem.

Yeah I know. But Cora is really killing us. He's OPSed at like 500 for the last 6 weeks.

Cora is a great pro, leave him alone.

I think we call that 'above average' compared to the rest of the crew these days.
In any case I'm not all that concerned with what backup SS hit - I expect them not to. Now it would be nice if he weren't batting at the top of the order as much but, until Reyes gets his leg amputated and we need a full-time replacement, I can live with him.
