I'm a degenerate gambler so I've got money on this with a friend... we agreed that nobody gets Pujols who we saw as the overwhelming favorite.

that was TERRIBLE the way he sucked dick, but i think it was being piped live into the stadium the way the crowd reacted so i guess it was for their benefit

He took Mauer over Cruz and Inge? He's aware that in-the-ballpark home runs don't count, right?
|
Nymr83 Jul 13 2009 06:18 PM |
dont ask me, i was just glad i didnt get stuck with Mauer, this isnt a batting average contest

ESPN stole Fox Sports old Ice Hockey flame tracker that they are trying to tell us is new technology , a yellow streak will go with the flight of the ball and turn green when it's going out......how annoying.

Nelson Cruz's ninth home run was a legit monster bomb......upper tank above the Big Mac area.....

David Cook wasn't listed at baseball-reference dot com.

Brandon Inge hits ZERO in the first round. I guess he's wishing he'd declined the invitation right about now.

its a good thing the all-star game isn't being held at Citi Field, with a mandatory home team player in the homerun derby the Mets would embarass themselves with their 2 best sluggers on the DL and Wright having lost the HR stroke, the Mets would send out steroid-reject Sheffield to represent the team
|
Nymr83 Jul 13 2009 07:02 PM |
what happens if one of those kids in the outfield tries to rob someone of a homerun?
|

Hilarity ensues witk a visit from home town hero Joe Buck, cue much sucking from Berman as Philips and Morgan hold Buck spread- eagled.

These kids in LF look like Muffy

The camera angles of this broadcast are horrendous.

Oh man, What a bad night for our cable company to have issues -- and take the net with it!

I only know who David Cook is because I watch VH1 while I run on the treadmill. I'm not into Idol.
|
Edgy DC Jul 13 2009 08:35 PM |
David Cook is the reason David Wright's timing is off.

One of these years, one of those kids is not going to be paying attention and get drilled by a line drive. Which will be sad. But when this happens, Joe Morgan will respond by saying, "Well, you know, I played the game. And when I played with Pete Rose his son Petey would run around the field. Now, if Derek Jeter had a kid and his kid was out there like that, he'd make those plays because he just brings something special to the game." And Berman would say, "Back, back, back..Oh! Splat, splat, splat." And Steve Phillips would say, "We'll when I traded for Mike Piazza..."

Nelson Cruz and Prince Fielder in the finals.
|
metsguyinmichigan Jul 13 2009 08:58 PM |
Berman just went nuts on a ball that didn't even clear the fence. Oops.
|
themetfairy Jul 13 2009 09:05 PM |
And Fielder wins it.
|
PiggiesTomatoes Jul 13 2009 09:10 PM |
Well, here's hoping Howard, Puljos, Fielder have a power drought in the second half like Wright in 2006.
|
G-Fafif Jul 13 2009 10:17 PM |
When Citi Field gets the ASG, they'll have to have an inside-the-park home run derby.
|
Nymr83 Jul 13 2009 10:34 PM |

that would actually be more entertaining
|
Triple Dee Jul 14 2009 12:43 AM |
And I actually may bother to watch it.

I'm a National League purist. I'd rather watch pitchers bunt.
