IGT: Mets @ Braves, 07/19/09

bmfc1
Jul 19 2009 02:41 PM

METS:
Angel Pagan CF
Luis Castillo 2B
Daniel Murphy 1B
David Wright 3B
Jeff Francoeur RF
Jeremy Reed LF
Alex Cora SS
Brian Schneider C
Fernando Nieve RHP (3-3, 3.03)

Braves:
Nate McLouth CF
Martin Prado 2B
Chipper Jones 3B
Brian McCann C
Garret Anderson LF
Yunel Escobar SS
Casey Kotchman 1B
Ryan Church RF
Javier Vazquez RHP (6-7, 2.95)

Enjoy Joe and Steve and don't forget that the ESPYs will follow immediately after the game ends. I don't think that ESPN will remind us or put up a countdown clock or something like that.

I wish ESPN had decided that the ESPYs were important enough to show all day on continuos loop and just ceded the game to SNY.

Let's bring it.

Strange, you don't get many rubber games in 4-game series.

Hey-- where's my ESPY red-carpet special? Fuck this noise.

Dammit! I turn on the TV to see a 4 day old film of ESPN celebrating itself and so I could watch their "reporters" suck up to the athletes they're supposed to impartially cover plus a roving pack of 3rd rate celebs and hangers-on ... and, instead, they're feeding me a fuckin' baseball game!?!

What kind of sports network is this anyway?

Looking at the replay I'd say he's done for the season , poor guy.

I guess it's good that they didn't cut Redding as Adam Rubin said on Saturday.

What happened to Nieve?
Later

Look like his hammy went trying to leg out a hit.

Francoeur puts Church's arm to the test. Excellent.

I thought maybe he'd done his knee in.

Miller has mentioned the espys by my count eight times since they came on before first pitch.

Atlanta...

You've been FRENCHED.

Edgy DC
Jul 19 2009 05:16 PM

How about Tim Redding showing some heart?

LeiterWagnerFasterStrongr
Jul 19 2009 05:17 PM

Right quad strain for Nieve, according to the radio.

LeiterWagnerFasterStrongr
Jul 19 2009 05:28 PM

Now, we've been Frenched-- thanks to a misplay in RF, a triple-ish hit from the dessicated Garrett Anderson leads to an RBI single from the slightly douchey Escobar.

LeiterWagnerFasterStrongr
Jul 19 2009 05:35 PM

Nice giddyup from Castillo beating out an infield hit to second.

metsguyinmichigan
Jul 19 2009 05:48 PM

Another bad error. And a walk.

Bases load with no outs, heart of the order.

Not good.

Hey, any idea when the ESPYs are on?

Frayed Knot
Jul 19 2009 05:51 PM

Redding got beat by a bunch of shit hits plus that error - but he was also going to too many deep counts and walking McLouth there is what killed him

metsguyinmichigan
Jul 19 2009 05:53 PM

And is that the last we see of him, or does the injury buy him some more time?

LeiterWagnerFasterStrongr
Jul 19 2009 05:54 PM

Dammit Jerry, quit rearranging those deck chairs-- we've got a taped award show waiting.

Escobar did us a favor. That was a mercy out.

Redding should be DFA's for the douchy facial hair. Maybe the MFY's are on to something.

There are too many bodies in the bullpen now. Two pitchers out, a pitcher and a bat back in makes sense to me.

Meanwhile, Murph with some more leather.

I can't bear to watch anymore. Oy, the carnage.

This team is tough to watch.

Of course, this is nowhere near the team I expected to be watching this season.

Is this the first time we've had two Angels on the team at the same time? Too bad Beroera doesn't play left, then he and Pagan could be....

PiggiesTomatoes
Jul 19 2009 06:27 PM

Phillips talking more smack. Although this last analysis was pretty sound, knowing he was canned by the Mets reduces credibility somewhat (or objectivity, anyway).

Jul 19 2009 06:32 PM

Screw Chipper Jones. He's a punk.

I'm in-and-out, and have the game on mute, anyway. What'd he say?

Frayed Knot
Jul 19 2009 06:53 PM

Hey I got a good idea; it's the last time around the lineup so let's walk Greg Norton who CAN'T hit and then Nate McLouth who's oh-fer-the-week four fuckin times!!

..."I'm no Angel"

Nice!
