It's always a bit strange when a non-player wins the day.

I know Eddie Yost won a few times. I'm not sure of any others.

Does he get two pages --- one as an exec and one as a minor leaguer?

Didn't catch the derby last night-- I take it he was on the broadcast?

It's also Mets Hall of Famer Johnny Murphy's 101st birthday.

Wait, sorry. Scratch that. There is no Mets Hall of Fame.

Maybe, maybe not because Berman, Morgan and Phillips during the HR Derby were talking about the most polite players they've known and Joe Morgan mentioned Doc Gooden and Steve Phillips said he saw that immediately when they were teammates and America was like "WTF?" But there they were, [url=http://ultimatemets.com/metannual.php?ThisYear=1982&tabno=8&teamno=60:3ucitdds]at Little Falls[/url:3ucitdds].

Phillips getting a lot of face time these days , but yeah I'm surprised he won.

Phillips last night during the HRD said Wright would have benefited from being a participant to get his home run swing back.

Here's a memory for you.

I play for Bishop Kelley and Charlie O'Brien is a fantastic coach, a great person, and a wonderful friend. But I can't stand his hairdo, the perm and mullet, whatever it is. It needs to be shaven off...immediately. </td></tr></table>

Where is Bishop Kelley? Wherever it is, we need to get over there... immediately!

A friend of mine once got a laugh out of Gooden by yelling out to the field (during warmups) if he thought Charlie O'Brien's haircut made him look like Harpo Marx

Probably his alma mater in Tulsa.

Oh yeah. It was a Berman-Morgan-Phillips triple homicide.

Had to watch the whole thing on mute.

I was listening to one of the sports talk radio shows the other day after the trade. The host was listing the players who had worn #12 with the Mets. He said he saw it on a website, but "couldn't read the name of it".

I couldn't get through to give the UMDB its props.

Thanks for trying, but it's just as well. The credit for the uniform number info should rightly go to MBTN.

I got the impression that the host wouldn't have known the difference. If I got on air, my mind would have kicked in and I would have probably plugged both of them.
