Lineup according to Rubin.

Tis no wonder the triple A affiliates of recent years haven't been pleased with the Mets , what a lineup.
|
Nymr83 Jul 25 2009 03:50 PM |
if you pulled Wright one could honestly believe this was Buffalo's lineup.
|
Kong76 Jul 25 2009 03:57 PM |
I get it ... I'm slow ... a lot of sun and a few suds today ...
|
bmfc1 Jul 25 2009 04:06 PM |
Sheffield to the DL. So the Mets go a week playing a man short and then DL the guy anyway.
|
metirish Jul 25 2009 04:16 PM |
I'm feeling a whole lot of hostility in your posts lately Jeff.
|
bmfc1 Jul 25 2009 04:26 PM |
I don't want to be Mr. Negative so I've refrained from commenting even more, but since you asked, I wouldn't say "Hostile." "Angry", definitely.
|
Kong76 Jul 25 2009 04:40 PM |
I'm disappointed. Not angry or whatever. These seasons happen.
|
Frayed Knot Jul 25 2009 04:42 PM |
Of course if we're going to wait for Sheffield to be happy about something we better bring a book and a couple of sandwiches because we're going to be on that line for a while.
|
bmfc1 Jul 25 2009 04:48 PM |
"Some Mets fans aren't happy. Ever."

Kong76 Jul 25 2009 05:08 PM |
Sure, but when you say things like ...
|
bmfc1 Jul 25 2009 05:14 PM |
Thanks Kong76. Let's just leave it at that and hope for a good one tonight.
|
Zvon Jul 25 2009 05:16 PM |
lol. love the igt title.
|
bmfc1 Jul 25 2009 05:19 PM |
Mystifying that Wright K's on the curve but Cory Sullivan gets a hit off the curve.
|
Nymr83 Jul 25 2009 05:25 PM |
Keith Hernandez gave us a nice little tidbit about our favorite douchebag, Roger "Roid Rocket" Clemens, who apparently went to the clubhouse to shave after he finished pitching in Game 6 so as to look good for the celebration, Keith said it got the Mets fired up. Personally I buy that players could NEED "firing up" to win a World Series game, but Clemens is still a douchebag.
|
Nymr83 Jul 25 2009 05:34 PM |
walks kill. come on Niese, bounce back next inning and don't give up free passes
|
Zvon Jul 25 2009 06:10 PM |

What drives me nuts is that this team could be perfect underdog, easy to get behind, fighting through the adversity etc etc but they just haven't struggled all that admirably. I've noticed that I haven;t yet chosen a backup team to keep things interesting, like I did in 07 with the Rockies, so to me there's still some wild far-off hope.
|
Kong76 Jul 25 2009 06:20 PM |
I gave up about a month ago, Lunchgrabber.

That's just it. There's nothing endearing about them at all.

I have to agree. With both. Very disappointed in this season. But I understand that the team has been riddled with injuries and our depth is not enough to overcome it, up to this point. We could/should be feared to get back into this thing if we get some key pieces back on the field, underdogs... and I want to feel this, but I don't think the team feels it. I just don't see it. But until the math tells me we are done I always have hope. Thats what faith in a team is all about.

7-1! Fran Coor!
|
Nymr83 Jul 25 2009 06:40 PM |
Francoeur hits a 3-run bomb down the line, its had the distance all the way it was just a question of fair or foul.
|
Kong76 Jul 25 2009 06:51 PM |
Santos again!
|
Zvon Jul 25 2009 06:52 PM |

Zvon Jul 25 2009 06:58 PM |
oooh, this is sweet to see.
|
Zvon Jul 25 2009 07:10 PM |
Damn. I thought 4 sure Francoeur had another one there.
|
Kong76 Jul 25 2009 07:15 PM |
Almost called the score in the dead thread, off by a run.

|
Nymr83 Jul 25 2009 07:28 PM |
pinch-hitter for Niese, who was spectacular after getting off to a shaky start in the first inning.
|
Zvon Jul 25 2009 07:42 PM |
YES! thats what i wanted to see!
|
Valadius Jul 25 2009 07:44 PM |

Nice to win a lopsided one.

He did the same thing when he won game #300 -- pitched with stubble and then came back out at the conclusion clean shaven.
|
Fman99 Jul 25 2009 08:12 PM |
Minute Maid Park is just what these guys need. A short porch to bang baseballs over, like it's possible and everything.

Between his 'gotta look tough' stubble and stupid spiky haircut, Roger remained the classic immature and dense-headed HS jock stereotype throughout his entire career.

I'm with ya. I predicted 19-1 during the 'brutal" stretch (I think they were 7-13) and figured on a hot run off the ASB (but didn;t realize I had stacked all my hopes on winning the first game). The new streak starts NOW!!!! I'll go start Sunday's IGT.

Didn't he realize that it was all for naught? No matter who won, Gary Carter would have sucked up every available minute of camera time. Later
