Double steal to prevent a double play. Ollie's gotta bear down here!

John Cougar Lunchbucket
Aug 01 2009 07:02 PM

Freakin Ollie. Not enuf to walk the guy, gotta walk him on a wild pitch.

4-3 good guys as we head to the bottom 5, Ollie's done.

A little early for Parnell, no?

Frayed Knot
Aug 01 2009 07:16 PM

You kinda knew going in that this game was going to be a bit of a chore to watch on account of Scherzer & Ollie

But that doesn't mean Parnell needs to get into the act.

Aug 01 2009 07:21 PM

Oh, Bobby.

Frayed Knot
Aug 01 2009 07:24 PM

The bloop double was unlucky.
The 4-pitch walk which started all this off was his own damn fault.

No decision for Ollie tonight.

Going to need to steal some more runs like they did last time.

Way to fuck up a leadoff single, Mets.

I am guessing (as did Cohen) that Figueroa may be called up to start Monday, what with Redding pitching in relief tonight.

Jeez, Reynolds went airborne to bring that one in.

First and second, Mets bench "slugger" Angel Berroa at the dish.

Creepy Sun Baby, do your thing.

Players openly ignoring Razor Shines, who'd wave the Titanic right into the iceberg if you let him.

Based are juiced for Pagan.

Why does there seem to be confusion at third base a lot with Shines?

Pagan's first dinger as a Met, good time for it too. Last HR was as a Cub in '07.

I'd like to see Jerry use someone other than Frankie with the 4 run lead and the short turn-around to the day game tomorrow.
The GS (again) screwed him out of a save situation anyway. He hasn't had one since the AS break.

Good that Pedro's gonna get the win out of this, he deserves it tonight.

Reynolds with the doesn't matter solo shot, 9-6 Mets. Two down.

Or, Redding was held back for his throwing today and was on tap to go for a batter or two tonight instead.
If so he could still be the Monday pitcher (although I think I'd rather see us get Figgy with it)

Reynolds' shot went 10 rows into the left field landing, on the staircase closest to centerfield.

K-Rod comes in for the 1-out save situation.

Yup, tying run on deck.
It's the cheapest save situation you can get - some call it 'The Mariano'.

]Like a ride on a rocket it took us up
Didn't want it to stop and it shook us up good
We were moving fast
Just ahead of the law
We were beggin' for more
And what a blast
Comin' round to a new kind of view of it
Never did it before we were doin' it now
And I gotta say it was easy to give
Was a reason to live another day
Neither one of us stopping to figure out
What the roll and the rockin' was all about
All we knew was that we couldn't get enough
You and me in the heat of delirious love
