How about "please listen to this music while waiting..." And it always turns out to be a shit song. So, a one minute call turns into two minutes and they make money off that extra minute if you're on the pay-per-call plan.

Heh. I've often wondered out loud to my wife about how much money the carriers make on the extra time taken up by these messages. Who has ever left a call-back number?
