All day, page loads seem to be waiting for something.

To me that means it never loads at all (The infamous hour glass). The problem I discribed was that it loaded, I could see it for a sec, then showed as "unavailable". Seemed that wasn't what you meant by choppy. And its been happening in that thread for more than one day - but that thread only.
