Now, after leaving so many times before, it feels a bit like the train's actually leaving the station... a loss here, along with a couple of wins by others, all but excises the plausibility from our playoff possibility.

Howie approves of the booing. Says the fans paid "more than decent money" and shouldn't have to concern themselves with the apparent desire to preserve the bullpen for another day. Not too many days left, at least in the sense that matters. Redding is up. I thought Redding would start in the first place. Reminds me of Norm McDonald's bit about the homeless man with the dog. Reyholds si a hoot. He has the athleticism, craziness, and creativity to make ridiculously good plays, but none of the polish or consistency to actually call him a good defender.

In some ways I was relieved to see Schoeneweis not get in a game this series. Somehow my faith in the fans at the park is not such that I would expect the poor guy to be given the break he deserves.
