What was the point of putting the runners in motion? If Jerry doesn't, that's a single and the bases are loaded w/none out. If they're down by one, OK but two? No, especially when the trail runner, the important runner because he's the tying run, is slow. Classic over-managing by Jerry.

I thought it was pretty incredible that I went to a game and saw two three-run homers in the top of the first, a starter pulled with a 3-0 count to the opposing pitcher after 45 pitches, a leadoff inside-the-park homer in the bottom of the first, a triple follow that, a poor-hitting pitcher drive in a run, the inside-the-park homer-hitter hit a homer outside the park and the return of an icon to face his old club. Also, Pat Misch in the middle innings giving up nothing was pretty special.
Apparently, prior to the ninth, I hadn't seen nothing yet.
In related news, I learned from those sitting around me that the Beach Boys of Mike Love were a lock to sing the National Anthem (they didn't); that Carlos Delgado has an option for next year (he doesn't); that Billy Wagner couldn't be used because once you're claimed on waivers you're ineligible (no such rule exists); and that Wagner, warming up in the bullpen wears No. 34 (Wagner wears 13; Mike Pelfrey wears 34; the pitcher warming up was No. 64, Elmer Dessens).

you get alot of that, at weekend day games especially. i've found the people sitting around me to be much smarter on freezing cold or rainy weeknights in April. i guess theres something about the early start and the heat that attracts the morons who would never show up to watch a game in the cold after work on a thursday
