I'm watching this, and this is sad - Soriano gives the Mets a 2-1 lead in the 8th with a couple of poorly played balls in the outfield, and then he taketh away with a 3-run homer in the bottom of the 8th - 5-2 Cubs...

Frenchy brings in two runs! Let's give Bobby a nice big cushion.

yeah - I'm a spaz - I woke up from a nap, and I thought it was today's game...

Mets up 2-1... Nice to see a smiling David Wright in the dugout...

And, true to form, we give those runs right back, and then some.

Then Schneid gets then back again!

Can't blame Razor for that one, I suppose.

WTG, Tatis.

Sixteenth time this year that Razor has sent someone to their doom at the plate. Can they please fire this bozo?

Razor still doesn't have a Stop Sign, but he does have a Yield sign, as he stopped Tatis before sending him home (where he was thrown out)
Mets have lost 16 runners at the plate on non-forces this year!

I saw the replay, Razor has a stop sign.
McCarver sees a guy out by a foot or so as out by eight feet and a microcosm
of the Mets season.
I know what he means, but he gets on my freakin' nerves.

He's a stopped clock. This is one of the two times a day.

He also prefers this crap-- all due respect to the late Steve Goodman, who's done plenty of better work-- to "Meet the Mets."

mccarver FINALLY gets corrected by his superiors, who let him know that the Astros record fewest homeruns as a team was for the "expansion era" (post 1962) only.
the worst part is it felt like mccarver hadnt just misspoken, he just didnt even know that!

They screwed that conversation up too. It started off with the Let's Go Mets
Go and ended with Meet the Mets.

Not to pick nits.

Once again, take the lead and give it back.

Uh, that's what they call the ol' gran' salami ...

Sadly, we know that well. Wonder what the team record for surrendering grand slams. We must be in spitting distance.

Seventh inning stretch ... never know what you'll dig up on you tube ...

Last suxx more like it.

The fargin' thing is over....

Kong76
Aug 29 2009 04:56 PM

Well that's that, again.

At this rate they may approach 100 losses.

metsguyinmichigan
Aug 29 2009 04:57 PM

It must be so freaking demoralizing to play for this team. They battle back, only to get kicked in the nads time and time again. Or, on the days a pitcher pitches his ass off, they can't push across more than a run.

Super! lotta Sweatermeat there..and to think, Marky Ramone could have stayed with Richard Hell rather than scoop up T-shirt money.
