I always think of Gregg Jefferies, for what it's worth. He got a cup of coffee in '87, then came up a few days before September in '88. But that was a hell of a September.

Charlie Greene is one of the '96s. Manny Hernandez is one of the '89s. Joe Nolan is one of the '72. Since I don't remember him pitching last year, I'll say Willie Collazo is one of the '07s, albeit with multiple spellings. Oh, and Brian Ostrosser is from '73.

No, I think Greg was the founder of the appreciation society for the Mets very own Ham Fighter. As he put it, there were two kinds of Ham: Ham you have, and ham you lack.

Personally, I could have kept lacking Hamulack and been fine with it.
