Things we like about summer

I'm sure I've mentioned this before, but one of my favorite things about summer is snapping the inside of the screen and watching a sleeping Daddy Long Legs flying through the air.

Frying them with a magnifying glass is fun too! Oh wait, that was forty years ago. (listening to a Woodstock special on XM, you'd think I'd have something more loving to say than that)

Air conditioning and shade. When its cold, you can always put on another layer of clothing to get warm. In the Summer, there's a limit of what you can take off without getting arrested. Later

-Cute girls on the beach wearing their cute girl summer time clothes. -Surfing without a wetsuit. -Going broke chasing bands on the summer concert circuit. -Camping & backpacking trips. -The smell of coconut sunscreen and barbecues. -Shorts & flops every day. I was made for summer.

Baseball The aroma in the air after a sun shower... the giggles of my daughter while splashing around in the pool... sitting out on my deck listening to the water fall in my koi pond and the sounds of crickets in the night... oh yeah, and baseball.

Those hard-as-hell summer storms that drop 2 inches of rain in about 10 minutes. Also, having a covered porch/stoop from which to watch those. The Mister Softee theme, for the first 500 times.

Mets games. Fun outside. Swimming. Golfing. Drinking outside. Weekends spent entirely in amusement parks, going on big water rides and having fun with the kids. Having extra family join us so Fman and Fwife can have some fun also while the kids are attended to. Lastly, and bestly, riding a roller coaster twice in a short span, so you can figure out where the camera is and make an "Ozzy" face while your wife is fearfully clutching the handrails.

The smell of Coppertone. The smell of chlorine. The smell of someone mowing the lawn The [u:1wk7tpa3]sound[/u:1wk7tpa3] of someone mowing the lawn. Roses. Crickets. I am starting to sound like a Three Dog Night song.

I love being able to meditate outside, either on my porch or on the stadium seats in my backyard. I love not having to wake up at 6:45 to get the kids on the school buses.
