I don't know really where to start, but I have to give up responsibility of
making sure this place is here every morning.

We need to come up with a transfer of ownership of the cranepoolforum.xxx,
moving of the redirects of the url's from kcmets.com 's accounts, and who's
gonna do what afterward.

Etc, etc, etc ...

I'm sure we'll figure something out. If not, the plug will be pulled ~ 012510.
I think six months is a fair time frame.

Kase, you've done good, and I hope everything's okay

Lol, I just saw you. I'm fine.

Yeah, KC, exactly what cooby said.

I'm a pretty flighty guy in general, but I do all the stuff you do for my own domains, etc., so I could probably be of help.

I imagine if peeps wanted, I could set up a little Nagios alert system that will send an email out to a list of peeps if CPF goes offline for a pre-determined amount of time.

Got enough time on my hands. Just little motivation.

Lemme know.

A post thought:

Any and all changes in ownership of whatever has to be approved by EdgyDC --
who invented the place.

I hope everything is OK Kase. I have always assumed that this place would be here forever, the thought that it might not be makes me ........sad?

I'm voting for Rogers to take the helm here.

I'd prefer to avoid that as I don't want to see a Derek Jeter banner picture.

I'd prefer to avoid nonsensical side comments.

I'm serious this time ... six months ... tick tick tick

Sorry for that Kase.

Well, six months would take us to February, not January.

Can you tell us what kind of commitment this would be, in money and time? People might be less hesitant to step forward if they had a little more information.

012510 is six months away. I chose that date because it's the host's approximate
billing date.

The community chest gives a history of the finances. In good times it costs very
little to run, in bad one might need to turn to F X Healy (and he's not speaking
to me).

The amount of time spent is up to whoever might want to take it on.

I'm available to help do whatever needs to be done.

I'd be lost in Metsville if this place ever went away.

This place is where I discuss the Mets (and baseball in general) and I would hat eto see it disappear. I don't have the experience or computer aptitude to host the site and keep it running, but I am willing to help keep the site alive with some additional funding.

KC maybe you want to tell us more here, is this a time issue? a money issue? if its the latter maybe we could get a group to agree to make more scheduled donations (without forcing anyone)

Kong76

It's not a time issue ... I can waste time with the best of 'em here.
It's not a money issue ... I'm not loaded, but I ain't exactly starvin' either.

I feel that a lot of the camaraderie that I once felt here has moved elsewhere.
The only person who answers my emails these days is themetfairy, my cyber sister.

It's a forum discussion thread, not a forum deathwatch thread.

I wasn't referring to you, but the guilty conscience is an lol'er.

KC, you never write to me! I would answer!

Not only would I answer, sir, but I would put you in contact with so many of my regal Nigerian friends, you'd never lack for cameraderie OR cash opportunities.

Wallet is as open as a new dad's can be. Techspertise is a bit lacking-- I value this too much to get my sticky fingerprints all over its architecture.

I think this place still has life in it, and I'll do my part to keep it going.
