Hit Record That Won't Fall to Some Weasely MFY Punk

Ever wonder how Ed Kranepool came to lead an entire franchise in base hits? Besides practice, practice, practice? The path to the Mets record on FAFIF today. From Bell to Thomas to Hickman to Kranepool to Jones to...well, you'll see how we wound up with the Top Five we have today. If you're anything like me, you'll marvel at how many times Eddie had to set the record (and if you're anything like me, I'm sorry).

Cap tip to FK for franchise hit record info from Labor Day Kwiz.

As always, brilliant!!

I didn't realize just how good Cleon Jones was. Shame on me.

And, in the end, it all turned out to be a stinking commercial.

Seriously, I would kill or die to get to Two Boots that night.

Last night, Steve Sommers' intro included a bit about a great player chasing an all time team hit record. He used every superlative you can think of. After a while, he let us know he was talking about David Wright being only 455 hits behind Ed Kranepool.
Take THAT Yankee fans. I was laughing so hard I almost drove off the road.
