Just noticed this: Style based on Caribbean, designed by MarkJ © 2008. Modified by B. Grimm for the Crane Pool Forum, 2009 Great stuff.

I didn't want to remove MarkJ's credit, but I also didn't want it to look like he was responsible (or to blame) for the changes I made. Changing that line seemed like the appropriate way to handle it.

Are we infringing on "© 2008," or are phpBB users legit license holders?

He submitted his Caribbean templates to the phpBB web site in order to share it with others. So, no, I don't see any copyright infringement. (Of course, I'm not a lawyer so perhaps I'm being naïve.)

No, I agree with you. I just don't know why somebody goes putting a © in there for open-source software.

Good point. Maybe he's trying to prevent people from selling it to others. Caribbean is free, though, so anyone who would know enough to buy and install a phpBB template would probably be able to find it for free. In theory I could try to sell the Metly version of Caribbean to some other Mets forum, but I doubt that would be a very lucrative market anyway. (And I'd rather we retained our unique look. However, even though I'm not going to upload and share "Metly Caribbean," somebody could copycat it without much trouble at all.
