Shelley Duncan

You know, for a guy from legacy baseball family, you'd figure there would be a few life lessons about carrying oneself that he might have been taught, but the more you read out there, the more it's clear that the guy is five-tool asshole.

I mean, I guess with a testosterone-driven manager like Girardi, a fringe player might think he can cash more big-league checks by playing the asshole so the more expensive players don't have to. But the beyond-the-paleness of it all is just silly, and if you believed there was anything --- anything at all --- to this notion of "Yankee class," you would think they'd cut ties with a marginal major leaguer who:

[list] [*] Takes pride in giving the most painful high-fives in baseball.

[/*:m]
[*] Kicks an opponent in the groin deliberately during an exhibition game --- and deliberately making an out in doing so ---- as some sort of ill-advised revenge for a clean play earlier in the game by a teammate of Iwamura's.

[/*:m]
[*] Taunts a 10-year-old autograph hound:

[/*:m]
[*] Swings like a maniac:

[/*:m][/list:u]

Maybe if he stole Jeter's glove, they'd move on.

Re: Shelley Duncan

I guess being a boy named "Shelley" can really have an asshole-izing effect on a guy.

And didn't he play "Peter Pan" on Broadway?

Re: Shelley Duncan

I wondered the same thing, I have concluded that he is probably running wild with his eyes closed and not caring who he steps on.

Re: Shelley Duncan

He is being "held back" by a man in pinstripes...However, there is no target that he needs to be held back from

Re: Shelley Duncan

I didn't see Duncan specifically in the midst of all the bodies but he must have been in the middle of it somehow because - in addition to the expected suspensions of Posada and Toronto pitcher Carlson who got three games each - Duncan also received three. Only he is appealing the ruling.

Because in his head, he didn't do anything wrong.

Because he's a five-tool dick.
