It's the annual hazing day for Mets rookies.

Why is Wright in that picture?

Santos is Robin:

Given that it's almost Yom Kippur, I'm surprised there's no tallis or tzitzis involved.

Why's Wright gone now from the first picture?

I'm about six clicks from becoming a Royals fan.

Maybe I don't understand professional jock humor and tradition.

How the last three seasons have ended, I really have no patience to
see such nonsense -- with or without Mr. Wright.

Oh, sure, longstanding jock tradition of thinking feminization is the ultimate in degrading humorous insult.

I stood with Jeff Kent back when he got hazed. Well, in spirit anyhow. Cut the crap and play responsible ball.

Er... given that they're all gentiles, that might have gone over about as well as blackface.

Look at Takahashi again, you can see his tzitzis real nice.

Re: It's Hazing Day

The season has been pretty miserable for them too, I imagine. Let them have fun with their little tradition; I don't see the harm in it.

Really, it seems that you guys are letting your frustration with the season turn this little joke into something much more than it is. With or without this, they would still be eliminated.

Shouldn't Murphy have been hazed last year?

I suspect none of them would know what tallis or tzitzis is. Or are.

I know I have no idea.

Some teams do it before September. In '06 the Mets did it after their June trip to Toronto because making the rookies go through customs in those getups makes the whole ordeal even more rigorous.

Hazing needs to be abolished..Who will be the first manager with the balls to not allow it?

The Mets have been hazed by most of the National League this season.

Don't know about the analogy, but I'm guessing (my YK SC notwithstanding) that the over/under on Mets aware of the Day of the Atonement yesterday was 0 (not counting Jay Horwitz).
