The Mets who will face Wandy Rodriguez: Angel Pagan CF Luis Castillo 2B David Wright 3B Carlos Beltran CF Jeff Francoeur RF Fernando Tatis 1B Omir Santos C Anderson Hernandez SS John Maine P This will be Maine's seventh start at Citi Field. Given my evening plans, I will have seen all seven in person. Jerry's resting Nick Evans.

Last weekend for Tatis to leave an impression , I expect he'll start all three games.

I'm assuming the Houston starter is a lefty. Why not give Murphy some at bats against the lefty? We should start a "Fire Jerry" Internet petition. I've never known an Internet petition that didn't work.

Leadoff triple followed by three straight Ks ... yeah, no way that's gonna come back to bite us.

Manuel Strategic Checklist Bunting with runners on first: CHECK Bunting with runners on second: CHECK Bunting with runners on third, in order to score a run: EHHHHH, NOT SO MUCH

FK: Leadoff triple followed by three straight Ks <<< Didn't see that, but one (or people like us) would wonder how often that sequence has happened? Has to be borderline rarely.

I believe that's the first time that's happened since Angel Pagan tripled two days ago, followed immediately by three consecutive David Wright strikeouts.

To me it sounds noteworthy, I'm sure someone will point it out eventually if it was. Oh, and big WHOO HOO to Maine. The game and the last bunch of games.

I wasn't necessarily implying that that specific situation is a constant irritation but rather that the more general inability to bring home tack-on runs in a close game (just two runs at that point) when the opportunity presents itself is a condition that frequently comes back to bite us. Happily my fears were unfounded last night.

I meant 3B, K, K, K is in general probably rare. Who knows what I meant, I was consumed by Mafia Wars last night.
