Windows 7

Did anyone rush out to get it? What do you think? I have Vista at home and don't have any problems...but the early reviews of 7 look good and it's relatively cheap for an OS.

Re: Windows 7

My last new OS was Snow Leopard. I'm gone and I ain't comin' back. I helped my ex with her computer and it was Vista. Seemed a lot like XP except for security warnings anytime I tried to change something. What's Windows 7's deal?

I'm sticking with Windows 3.1x. Didn't get W7 and I won't be unless I get a new PC which I am not. I have XP and I would need to buy a new PC because I don't think the current one would work on an upgrade.

Vista on my home desktop, Linux on everything else. I'm good.

Re: Windows 7

My daughter's laptop had Vista on it, and we installed the Windows 7 RC over the summer. If you have Vista, it is well worth it - the laptop runs much faster now, and we don't even have the final version it. Upgrading from XP could be a dicier proposition. One would need to do a clean, fresh install since the XP code base is different than that of W7, and that could cause problems if you don't have installation disks for all of your programs.
