Well at least they've been consistent ...

2009 WS Game times:
Game 1 - 3:27
Game 2 - 3:25
Game 3 - 3:25
Game 4 - 3:25

... so I guess we can pretty much pencil in what time tonight's game is going to end.

These games are also just short of half-again as long as the games in the 1969 WS. Those averaged 2:21 with none longer than 2:33 (and that was the 10 inning game)

How many pitchers did Girardi use last night , by the time I left I think it was six....a few times in the post-season he has used eight. Then the meetings on the mound every turn of bat and even twice in the same at bat.

So what time have these games been ending? Around midnight?

Mostly earlier.
Only the Sunday night (Game 4) was an 8:20 or so first pitch so that ended right about midnight.
The others have all been sked for 7:57 first pitches (why 7:57? ... I dunno!) so they've been getting in about 11:30 except for the one (Sat - Game 3) that was rain-delayed about an hour and 20 minutes or so.

The networks and MLB claim that the ratings for those near-midnight finishes (9 PM on the west coast) are actually better near the finish than they are at any other hour - something which gives them the ammo to refute the argument that earlier starts would be better. So as long as the final out stays on the pre-midnight stroke I think they're OK with how things are going.

Only five last night actually as there was no Joba or Mariano. Earlier games have seen him empty it out. But there's nothing all that unusual about that; every manager in baseball more or less manages that way and certainly aren't about to cut-down in the post-season. Girardi did get burned by over-doing it in the Angels series but most of his moves are defendable even if somewhat over-cautious.
The difference w/the Yanx, as you mentioned, is the conferences. They've got about $200,000,000 worth of hurlers out there who apparently can't go more than 9 pitches without hand-delivered instructions as to what to throw next. Catchers, pitching coaches, trainers, infielders, managers, ... hell, I think it's only a matter of time before either Billy Crystal or Mayor Rudy is trotting out there with advice. One of the relievers came in mid-inning the other day. He of course had a quickie conference before his warmups but yet still needed a catcher visit after his third pitch even though nothing had changed except that he's dealing with a one-and-one count. Even the Philly phans have noticed and are not only booing each new group huddle but the cat-calls start as soon as Posada takes his first two steps because they know another senseless delay is coming.

Given all that I'm surprised these games aren't taking FOUR and a half hours.
