No big surprise there. $9+ mil is a helluva lot for a good set-up man much less an injured one.

I could see him getting 2 x $4 at least, and probably more. But he's not worth $9 even as a closer and here he's not going to close.

I can see a lot of incentives, but if he gets more than a million guaranteed his agent is a genius and/or some GM is nuts. Fangraphs pointed out that we have negative wins above replacement to show for that deal. Great.

Betting on him to be a lot better than that isn't going to be a stretch. Decent money from a mid-to-good team as a 7th/8th inning guy or as a closer for a lower/middle team - and two years in either case - wouldn't surprise me.
