No big surprise there. $9+ mil is a helluva lot for a good set-up man much less an injured one.

I could see him getting 2 x $4 at least, and probably more.
But he's not worth $9 even as a closer and here he's not going to close.

I can see a lot of incentives, but if he gets more than a million guaranteed his agent is a genius and/or some GM is nuts.

Fangraphs pointed out that we have negative wins above replacement to show for that deal. Great.

Well sure but mostly because he missed most of the year and was pretty shitty during the brief time he was active. Betting on him to be a lot better than that isn't going to be a stretch.
Decent money from a mid-to-good team as a 7th/8th inning guy or as a closer for a lower/middle team - and two years in either case - wouldn't surprise me.
