Yeah, we did. I'm still not sure at what point I'll drop the "thousand." I think I'll stick with it through Two Thousand Twelve, and then switch to Twenty Thirteen.

I've been going with 'Two Thousand Nine' but I'm already using 'Twenty-Ten' to refer to next year. On a side note, I remember (way back) in the '90s when someone would ask what the next decade would be called the answer was usually along the lines of; 'we'll find out when we get there'. Well now it's 7 weeks from being over and no standard has emerged at all. 'The aughts' just never caught on.

Yeah, it shows that a decade really doesn't need to be named. I think the next decade may suffer the same fate. Maybe the Teens? I kinda doubt it, though. It seems that only eight out of ten decades end up with names.

I think I've gone to just saying "oh-nine" and using the century indicator when referring to the 19s or 18s or whatever.
