So what happens ...

... when one hits that red exclamation point on the right-hand side of each post? Rolling the cursor over it brings up the message it's a way to 'Report this Post' but what exactly does that mean? Report it to one or all of the admins, or to the folks that run the board? I suppose I could try it and see but I didn't want to send up red lights flashing all over the board and have the internet police come by and wonder whether I'm trying to root out secret pornography or something.

You get a chance to fill out a report on why that particular post you flagged is so alarming. Go ahead and hit it and see. You still need to hit a few other buttons before submitting.

But to whom is this "report" going? -- local admins (youse guys) or grand high exhaulted mystic folks who rule this place (some dude I don't know and probably don't want to know)

I just reported Edgy so lets see what happens to him...... there are four "reasons" you can choose form and then you can give a brief summary of the complaint.

I don't know if you all see it, but a red exclamation point now appears (to me --- and I assume the other administrators --- anyhow) next to thread topic. I open the thread and in my post --- in my damn post, y'all --- I see this: Click to view report. I follow that link and I see his complaint. He selected: "The post contains links to illegal or pirated software." He further opined, "I find this poster to be very disagreeable with most everything posted here..... thank you." I, as admin, can alter the post or censure the poster accordingly, but since it's me, I think I'll just feel bad.

I didn't in fact notice I could pick a reason until after I posted.......you know I was kidding around though....
