Makes no difference who you are Anything your heart desires Will come to you... Milford Pee Wee cheerleaders, you've just won your division's Pop Warner New England Regional Championship. What are you going to do now? WE'RE GOING TO DISNEY WORLD! As some of you know, my daughter's cheerleading squad, as been winning competition after competition, and is now heading to Disney World the week of December 7 to compete for the national championship.

Awesome! I wish them the best of luck as they compete in Florida, but above all else I hope they have a wonderful time that will provide them a lifetime of fond memories.

Thanks Doc. My wife and I plan on staying longer than the competition for just that reason. This is a once in a lifetime opportunity for these girls, and we want to make sure that they remember this forever...

That's great! Congrats to the whole team. Pee Wee and Intermediate is ok. But I'm thinking it's kind of weird to call a group of cheerleaders "Large" "And a big welcome to the Milford Large Cheerleaders!!!" Are we taking bets on which one is little Tiberius?

Nice stuff. Both of our kids got to go down there for music competitions and they were treated very well. Also, that's a great week to be down there, as the crowds are at a pretty low level. If you can, sneak your camera onto Tower of Terror and take a shot out the window at the top of the elevator shaft. Have a great time.

Um, I wouldn't advocate risking good camera equipment on that kind of a ride (and dgw only brings the good stuff).

Another year, another gaggle of first place trophies, and the Milford Eagles Junior Midgets will be winging their way to sunny Orlando to once again compete for the National championship. Their cache so far: 3 straight Southern Connecticut championships 4 straight Connecticut State Championships 2 New England Regional titles 1 New England Final title 4th place in the Nation (2009) This year, the girls came in second in New England in a new division, which still earned them a trip to Disney. The Pop Warner competition is the week of December 6th - the same week that the Baseball Winter meetings will be held in Disney World...

The girls missed the National Chanpionship by .06 points...

Yes, that's my youngest with the black ankle wrap. It never ends ;-) Actually, the Pop Warner Cheer season starts on August 1st. The girls practice 4 nights a week until school starts, then they practice two nights a week, once on the weekend, plus cheer for the football team's game. Their first local competition is in October; In this case it's the Southern Connecticut Conference. The top 2 squads in each division advances to the New England Regional Qualifiers; The next week is usually the Connecticut State competition. this is a stand-alone competition. They do not advance to any further competitions after this one. Then in November is the New England Regional Qualifiers - again, the top two squads in each division advance, this time to the New England Regional finals. The regional finals are two weeks later, and the top two squads in each division advance to the National Competition in Disney World.

Whenever she plays sports or takes dance, she wears it for extra support.
