Wagner and Benitez were both pretty dominant during their time as the closer at Shea. Their stats are very similar, though Benitez had a longer run. I ultimately voted for Wagner, in what I viewed as a virtual dead heat between the two, because I felt more at ease and had greater confidence in Wagner than I did with Benitez.

Armando was much better than his reputation suggests, but those two games to the Braves in September 01 still linger in my mind more than anything Wagner ever did.
