Karaoke

Last night was my company's Holiday Party. Food, drink and Karaoke. Since my boss had never heard me sing, she still said at least one song was "mandatory". Well, since I work the late shift, I dedicated my number to all the folks who work with me. It was "Night Moves". By the end of the night, I was happy to learn that I didn't have the worst voice there. Do you do Karaoke? How would you rate your voice 1 -10 (1 is Karen Carpenter or Frank Sinatra) and 10 being anthricite descending a coal chute? What do you sing? Later

It was a big fad in Ireland in the early 90's , we'd get drunk and sing Bon Jovi(of course)....I'd never do it now.....terrible voice..2 out of 10

Re: Karaoke

I did it once on a cruise, and was very self conscious about it. But now that I'm at my goal weight, I think that I'd be more comfortable getting up in front of an audience and giving it another go.

Re: Karaoke

A couple of times, always at private parties. My go-to song was "Basket Case" by Green Day. A couple of my cousins and I also comprised the most Caucasian Temptations cover group ever. Oh, and I can't sing. At all. Fortunately, I was no worse than the rest so it was all in fun.

Re: Karaoke

Sober -- rarely a good idea. A few drinks -- best idea ever. I have been known to rock the casbah on occasion.

Re: Karaoke

I don't do karaoke. I have an extraordinary voice that ranges many many octaves. I haven't sung in front of people since middle school.

[quote="Edgy DC":3fn1ztj6]Mean old wife won't let me.[/quote:3fn1ztj6] Same. I can really only do it when she isn't around. Even then, I feel a little like I'm cheating on her... and my dignity. (70s soul, Guns and Roses, awful modern ballads. When I'm drunk, I sound like friggin' choirs of cherubim.)

Guns were a must , also Tone Locs "Wild Thing". , then the people who thought they shit hot whould hog the mic all night. Every night of kareoke was finished in our local pub with " New York , New York"

Re: Karaoke

Only a handful of times and not in many years. Singing voice approximates something in the baritone neighborhood and rates about a '7' (in MFS's scale) and even then only on a good day.

Re: Karaoke

I'm far too self conscouis to take the mike in Karaoke. The closest I have ever come to that would be when I and three of my friends took to the stage to sing back up for a band at one of the concerts at our college. There was a substantial amount of alcohol leading up to that impromptu performance. Unfortunately, I did a lot of strupid things in college and alcohol was almost always a mitigating circumstance.
