Marlon Anderson teaches the Phils a lesson:
|
Rockin' Doc Sep 28 2005 08:49 PM |
Marlon's done a good job coming off the bewnch this season. He's done a pretty good job as a pinch hitter and he can fill in all over the field when needed. I know Anderson is getting up there in years, but I wouldn't mind seeing him on the Mets bench next year.

Bell on the mound in the 8th gets in a pickle (1 out back to back singles puts Phils at 1st & 3rd) and Hammy takes over.

I'm still trying to figure out how this is the "biggest game of the year." Did I miss something? Did the Astros give back a few of their wins?
|
Zvon Sep 28 2005 10:23 PM |
Hamulak gets J. Michaels to fly out to left, but its deep enough for the sac to score the Phils Bell from 3rd.
|
Rockin' Doc Sep 28 2005 10:24 PM |
The bases are jammed with phreakin' Phillies after Lofton singles for his fourth hit of the night.
|
Zvon Sep 28 2005 10:27 PM |
OUCH!
|
Rockin' Doc Sep 28 2005 10:28 PM |
Me - "Damn it, we need an out to end this madness."
|
Zvon Sep 28 2005 10:29 PM |
Burrell goes yard.......crap.
|
Rockin' Doc Sep 28 2005 10:30 PM |
Hamulack says, "Thank you sir! May I have another?"
|
Zvon Sep 28 2005 10:34 PM |
Mets pinch hit for Anderson with matsui, who swings at a very shitty 1st pitch to pop out.
|
Zvon Sep 28 2005 10:37 PM |
Diaz pops out to put me out of my misery.

Edgy DC Sep 28 2005 10:59 PM |
Bad bullpen management tonight.

And poor Hamulack gets to go into the offseason with a rather ugly ERA permanently attached to his stat sheet.

Bitch of a way to say "Happy Birthday" to Heath Bell. (Its really today)

Yes, God love him, I felt so bad for him. Yet at the same time I was sitting there wishing it was Looper; what does that say about my feelings for him?
|
smg58 Sep 29 2005 10:13 AM |

Yes, and it's tough to come in and pitch well when you haven't pitched in a while, or when you'd been getting a batter a week like Hamulack. But they have to make good on the opportunities they get if they want to get more. I'm worried that this one game will set them way back in Randolph's eyes.

Rotblatt Sep 29 2005 10:47 AM |
Bell seemed to do okay in his first inning (1 H, 2 K) and wasn't helped at all by Hamulack in his second . . .
