Thats 33 hr and 97 RBIs.
*Z twittles his fingers*..........excellent.

If you told me at sesons start a Met would post those numbers Id of said, thats gotta be Beltran.
Floyds bat still looks mighty fast thru the zone. I thought he was lookin burnt out over a month ago.

I toast Floyd and his most excellent season. Hope he reaches 100 ribs.
Heres to afew more seasons like that over the next few yrs.

I picked him up at the beginning of the season for my fantasy team. Worked out beautifully.

He didnt go in either of the drafts I was in but was scarfed up a month or so in.

DAMNNNNNN YOU UTLEY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

U see that short compact swing?

DAMN YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!

Utley goes yard to give the Phils the lead.

Was Utley batting 3rd last time in......I dont think so.

Zvon
Sep 28 2005 08:14 PM

A 3 run job by Mr. Clutch Utley......
Sheeeeee-it.

I think for all intents and purposes, the Mets have derailed the Phightins.
It will be quite an uphill climb to recover from losing the first two games of this series. I agree playing the spoiler is a defeatst attitude, but i dont mind seein it happen, esp with the local Phils (you think Met fans are fickle, HA!)

And the Mets have leap frogged out of the basement past the Knats and the Fish. And thats where they should be, I feel. Id be very happy if the Mets end .500 or better and in third place.

Phils announcer just said, and Ill quote:
"Cairo, doing the job of the ultimate number eight hitter, is now 2 for 2 and doing his job......"

According to MLB Gameday:
Bobby Abreu reaches on missed catch error by pitcher Steve Trachsel, assist to first baseman Mike Jacobs.

Sounds like Trachsel isn't helping himself out much. What did he do, drop a toss from Jacobs on a ground ball to first?

At least he got Burrell to end the inning.

I got booted off the forum 3 times while attempting to post this.

Marlon Anderson teaches the Phils a lesson:

5-3 Phils in the 5th

Rockin' Doc
Sep 28 2005 08:49 PM

Marlon's done a good job coming off the bewnch this season. He's done a pretty good job as a pinch hitter and he can fill in all over the field when needed. I know Anderson is getting up there in years, but I wouldn't mind seeing him on the Mets bench next year.

I must have been in the kitchen grabbin a snack when this went down.
At CBS it just says error by Trachsel.

Suddenly Ishii is gettin plenty of work.
He'll take over for Trash.

Zvon
Sep 28 2005 09:06 PM

Phils get another run on a basehit by lofton, off Ishii.
The Mets threw the ball around the field until they managed to get Lofton tryin for 2 to end the inning.

Castro gets sawed off for a single, and its amazing that bat didnt spear anyone in the stands. It went about 15 rows in and the busted side was as sharp as a knife.

Thru 5 and 1/2 its Phils 7, Mets 3

Valadius
Sep 28 2005 09:10 PM

Goddammit, here's Ishii.

We want Hammy!!!

Valadius
Sep 28 2005 09:14 PM

DANNY GRAVES?!?!?!?!?!?!?!

Zvon
Sep 28 2005 09:23 PM

How about Graves?

Ishii walks Utley, gives up a double to Abreu.
Graves takes over.
Ks Burrell (big) , intentionally walks Howard, then gives up a bases loaded single to Bell (a lil dying humpback liner)

Then Graves Ks Lieberthal (big) .
The HE WALKSSSSS Padilla with the bases loaded (after gettin 2 strikes on him)

Phils go up 9-3.

Zvon
Sep 28 2005 09:26 PM

I have to say tho, graves had some nasty stuff on the ball. It was movin all over.
But you simply CANT walk the opposing pitcher with bases juiced.
Thats just rediculous.

Zvon
Sep 28 2005 09:32 PM

Anderson goes for the 2nd time tonight. Niccccccccce.

Zvon
Sep 28 2005 09:44 PM

Wright with a 2 run blast, his 24th of the year.
That gives him 99 rbi.

Phils still lead, but the mets are chippin away at it, 9-6

I got him right away in the draft too, and he has been a joy to own

Zvon
Sep 28 2005 10:18 PM

Bell on the mound in the 8th gets in a pickle (1 out back to back singles puts Phils at 1st & 3rd) and Hammy takes over.
Hamulak for the hold, and we cant let the Phils plate any more runs here.

seawolf17
Sep 28 2005 10:22 PM

I'm still trying to figure out how this is the "biggest game of the year." Did I miss something? Did the Astros give back a few of their wins?

Zvon
Sep 28 2005 10:23 PM

Hamulak gets J. Michaels to fly out to left, but its deep enough for the sac to score the Phils Bell from 3rd.
Then Hammy lets Lofton line a single into center.
Phils have ducks on the pond for Utley.

(10-6 Phils, and they will bring in Wagner for the 9th [its no longer a save situation])

Rockin' Doc
Sep 28 2005 10:24 PM

The bases are jammed with phreakin' Phillies after Lofton singles for his fourth hit of the night.

Damn it, we need an out to end this madness.

Zvon
Sep 28 2005 10:27 PM

OUCH!

Utley with a baseclearing single.

Someones gonna get an error on that throw by Floyd to second.

Utly has now driven in over 100.

Victerino hits a pich hit homer (who the hell is he?) and the Phils now have 15 runs.
A 6 run 8th,.....ugh.

Rockin' Doc
Sep 28 2005 10:28 PM

Me - "Damn it, we need an out to end this madness."

Didn't happen. Utley clears the bases with a freakin' single.

Who was it wanted Hamulack? Be careful what you ask for, you just may get it.

Zvon
Sep 28 2005 10:29 PM

Burrell goes yard.......crap.
The Phils explode here in the 8th.

16-6, Phils on top.
(Houston is tied with the cards in the 7th)

Rockin' Doc
Sep 28 2005 10:30 PM

Hamulack says, "Thank you sir! May I have another?"

Pat "The Bat" says, "No problem."

Zvon
Sep 28 2005 10:34 PM

Mets pinch hit for Anderson with matsui, who swings at a very shitty 1st pitch to pop out.
Beltran follows with a check swing K.

Alls we need is a 10 run homer fron Diaz, who pinch hits with 2 out in the 9th.
(Phils went to Fultz instead of Wags)

Zvon
Sep 28 2005 10:37 PM

Diaz pops out to put me out of my misery.
Phils hand it to the Mets and, tho derailed, their trains still a chuggin.
Its a long shot tho, but this is baseball.
Could very well happen.

And poor Hamulack gets to go into the offseason with a rather ugly ERA permanently attached to his stat sheet.

I'd get him back out there tomorrow. That's one you don't want to dwell on for six months.

Bitch of a way to say "Happy Birthday" to Heath Bell. (Its really today)
He hasn't pitched since Mike Schmitt was still playing, then he's put in there against a good hitting team that's pissed off.

Yes, God love him, I felt so bad for him. Yet at the same time I was sitting there wishing it was Looper; what does that say about my feelings for him?

Yes, and it's tough to come in and pitch well when you haven't pitched in a while, or when you'd been getting a batter a week like Hamulack. But they have to make good on the opportunities they get if they want to get more. I'm worried that this one game will set them way back in Randolph's eyes.

Bell seemed to do okay in his first inning (1 H, 2 K) and wasn't helped at all by Hamulack in his second . . .

All in all, I'm glad I missed this one.
