It's a quarter past midnight and the winds are really blowing and we're getting some rain. Nothing exciting yet.

Our power went out at 4:30am but is back now. The only damage we have is that our microwave now wants to be on all the time.

Heard from my cousin last night.
She had just moved to Tyler, a city East of Dallas and North of Houston, a few weeks ago. She hadn't sent us her new phone number, so we had no way to get in touch with her and were beginning to worry.
She got a lot of rain and wind, but is ok.
That was a real relief to hear from her.

We made it through with no damage -- just some branches and leaves on the ground. Then, yesterday afternoon, more than two full days after the storm, our power went out. It was out until this morning, when it came back on for two hours and went out again. My wife just called and said it's still out. Somehow, losing power two days after the storm is much more irritating than it would have been had the power gone out during the storm.

Glad to see both of you made it through the storm.

A romantic evening ahead...

rat, we get that all the time after storms.
Possible reasons are that the power company shuts off power while they're trimming damaged trees away from lines or reconnecting lines to a grid to repair spot local outages.
Glad you're well.
