Your Saturday Morning Riddle

What is the hardest thing about learning to roller skate?

KC
Sep 24 2005 08:34 AM

I'd go with either 'stopping' or 'getting back on your feet after falling'.

But why do I think this is going in another direction? lol

seawolf17
Sep 24 2005 08:44 AM

The ground, when you fall.

MFS62
Sep 24 2005 10:08 AM

And the corollary joke (heard on FOXNEWS Sunday morning edition a few months ago):
What is the toughest thing about rollerblading?
Later

cooby
Sep 24 2005 10:25 AM

Very good seawolf "the ground" is correct.

Is that the answer to the rollerblading question too?

MFS62
Sep 24 2005 11:30 AM

No, that's not the answer.

I'll post it later today.

Uh,... Later

cooby

I give up! :)

MFS62
Sep 26 2005 01:55 PM

Telling your parents that you're gay.

Later

holychicken
Sep 26 2005 02:18 PM

I never associated rollerblading with being gay.

In fact, I got laid once because I met a girl while rollerblading.

Maybe that was because her choices were so limited. And here I was thinking I was a stud. :(

MFS62
Sep 26 2005 02:23 PM

Since I don't rollerblade, nor do I know anyone who does, I just posted what I heard on the tv because it seemed to be "in topic".
And it seemed odd to me when I heard it that it didn't get bleeped.

Don't worry, chicken, you're a stud to us.

62,

Are you coming on to me?

I know I rollerblade and all, but I don't swing that way. . . NTTAWWT.

What happens if your dog swallows a clock?

MFS62
Oct 01 2005 08:52 AM

It gets tics?

(I'm just asking, because I never heard this riddle before. It sounds like a comendibly corny continuation of what should become a Saturday Morning tradition)

Later

cooby
Oct 01 2005 08:58 AM

You are very good at this!

Ticks is correct

My son got a really good riddle book for his birthday a few years back and it doesn't get much use any more so I figured I might as well test you all every Saturday

Maybe he has the same book.

The one I have picked out for Halloween weekend is very cute

1) A dog was tied to a 15-foot rope, but he walked 30 feet. How come?

2) What do liars do after they die?

ScarletKnight41
Oct 08 2005 02:39 PM

1) From 15 feet out, he walked to the middle and then 15 feet the other way.

2) They Lie in State.

It's still morning? LOL

MFS62
Oct 08 2005 02:40 PM

I'll guess:
1) to the end of the rope and back.
2) They keep lying - as in a prone position.

Later

cooby
Oct 08 2005 02:40 PM

Nope and Nope.

But excellent answers both, just not the ones in my book.

MFS62
Oct 08 2005 03:17 PM

OK, I give up.
Its now Saturday afternoon, and the suspense is killing me.

Later

cooby
Oct 08 2005 06:51 PM

No, not enough guesses yet, despite Mom's quite excellent stabs at them

Hints

1) So easy I gave you a second one

2) So easy a dead person could answer it

cooby
Oct 08 2005 06:56 PM

Good heavens, after several hours I realize MFS72 and I cross posted and he correctly answered #2.

2) They lie still

#1 is still up for grabs

TheOldMole

That's really a good guess though, 62.

If you have a neighbor with a pool, borrow their little pump; we have used ours in our basement probably as often as we have in our pool...they are indispensible!

Posting early this week: (which means I want to sleep late this Saturday morning)

A man leaves his house and walks 5 miles South. He then turns and walks 5 miles East, where he kills a bear. He doesn't have his knife with him to skin it, so he drags the bear five miles North back to his house.

What color is the bear, and why?

Hard one from the quiz they have on Sunday morning on NPR:

Starting with the letters E-L-I, add 3 letters to the front, and the same 3 letters to the back, but in reverse order (for example ABC-ELI-CBA), to make a common 2-word phrase. Hint: The phrase describes this puzzle.

In case you can't guess they will broadcast the answer tomorrow.

Goose, because you don't make it plural by adding an S.

Group A

Men,
Feet,
Children,
Teeth,
Mice,
Geese.

Group B

Adults,
Toes.

Edgy DC

I was just dog shopping today.

We drove out to meet two Katrina victims. This was them after three washings:

But, because the washers still couldn't get all of the sludge out of the dogs' hair, they had to be shaven.

They're going to be gorgeous when their coats come back in, but I don't think these are the dogs for us.
