A bunch of us here loved the book and it stars MLBS Viggo Mortenson as 'dad' and Charleze Theron as 'mama'. Was gonna pull the trigger on the late-late showing the other night, but fell asleep. Anyone had a look yet?

Looks like from the trailer, they sort of defined the cataclysmic event, which is something I liked that they didn't do in the book.

Caught this on Showtime yesterday.....visually beautiful if dark , looks like it was shot in sepia or duotone . Can't compare it to the book as I have never read it but i enjoyed this movie, had some great life lessons and all that.

Really dug it. Gotta be "in the mood" for a dark, sad-as-shit, depressing apocalypse movie, tho.

For the record, I thought from the trailer that they'd ID'd the apocalypse, but they didn't. Seems better that way. You don't know what it was that happened & it doesn't matter. Just about the dad & the son and their survival. Very good stuff.
