I like it, I get a little chill, I'll admit. Six weeks till pitchers and catchers report.

Jerry Manuel and the Mets believe in 2010. So that makes a total of 26 people that believe they have a shot.

Twenty-seven, smart ass.

I believe that they probably should have shaved before doing this.

I believe that Jose Reyes is thanking whatever God in whom he believes that he had a schedule conflict that morning.

I give Jerry credit for saying "Two Thousand Ten" instead of "Twenty Ten."

I like Jerry in that clip. His brand is going to need that kind of "strong leader" push if he's going to be able to withstand any stretch of sub-par Mets play this year.

We believe in comebacks, comebacks, comebacks, comebacks

spoken by 4 pitchers who usually need one

"We believe management forced us to make this video, because nobody was renewing their season ticket plans. Now renew damnit!"

I almost didn't recognize him. The mustache is new, I guess?

Re: Mets 2010 promo clip

i can't believe the mets would dare to advertise after last season. they should just go out there, without ever trying to market their organization at all, and just win games. clearly, all marketing efforts should be abandoned to make up for last season, and should only be resumed if the team should ever win a championship. no more billboards, no more magazine ads, no more radio spots. just go out and win, and then you can talk shit, like saying you think you believe in yourselves as a fucking team. i mean, really, sheesh. what a joke this organization is!

Re: Mets 2010 promo clip

The Mets are like CitiGroup and GM, none of them should be allowed to advertise.

btw, where's the outrage over Citi being the sponsor of tonight's (bogus) 'National Championship' game - plus a bunch of the other bowl games as well? Seems that spending money on stadium naming rights is verboten but apparently doing so on game naming rights isn't.
Of course if I were a more paranoid person I'd say it's because mediots consider money in baseball to be the source of all evil but not to be mentioned when it comes to football, even (maybe especially) when it comes to "amateur" football.

Also, because you can get more juice in the local papers in fomenting stupid fake populist outrage at a local team.
