New Years Eve
metsguyinmichigan Dec 31 2009 08:42 AM |
We have an event here in Grand Rapids that's a lot of fun. Free outdoor concert at a downtown park, with a huge lighted ball dangling overhead all night from a construction crane -- which you can't see in the dark -- that lowers down at midnight. Last year was the first time, and it was a huge hit. Headliner was Plain White T's. This year it's Boys Like Girls headlining and Uncle Kracker opening. There's an art museum adjacent to the park -- Rosa Parks Circle -- and it offers all kinds of programs and snacks, with a place to run in and get warm between acts. Taking the kids and some of their friends to enjoy the festivities. Here's hoping everyone has a safe, healthy and happy new year!

I'm going to run the 4-miler at midnight in Central Park. I've never run in Central Park before, because I didn't start running until after I moved to New Jersey. So I'm psyched :) A Happy and Healthy New Year to all!

I'm sneaking off to be with this chick from high school I reconnected with on Facebook! Nah, I always stay in. Amateur night out there.

Freekskill party we've all been doing for a long time. So long as I bring sausage and peppers for twenty or so, we're always welcome. Hopefully the troopers will have the road block up .... I love going through the road block with my guardian angel on New Years Day. Happy New Year Occifer!

Going to a low-key party at a friends house. I have to be home before midnight, because I have to dial in for a conference call to launch a website for work.

Staying home with wifey and a bottle of bubbly. I'm wonderin', Did Yankee-fan Mayor Bloomberg ask Luis Castillo to drop the ball at midnight? Later

We spent the day bowling with my sister and her kids, and her friends and their kids, and joined the same group later for roast beef and drinks and stuff. Lunchpail was so stimulated he stayed up past midnight, it was a miracle.

The Teds found our way to the NC beach, Pine Knolls Shore. Quiet, a bit cold, but relaxing. Could you hear the ruckus to the north, Doc?

My family and I spent a quiet New Years Eve at my mother's home in Waynesboro, Va. Spent the weekend visiting and catching up since we see one another too seldom. We had a nice visit before returning home this evening. The outside thermometer on the care kept slowly creeping upward as we drove back south this afternoon. Glad to leave the frigid cold behind. Not that it's all that warm here at home, but much warmer than it was at my mom's.
