New year, new screen name

I found this forum a few years ago and lurked for a while before joining, figuring that as a casual fan I wasn't going to have a whole lot to say among the seriously Metly folks who are regular contributors here. When I joined, I chose the name "Mendoza Line" based on the rationale that I have about the minimum amount of baseball knowledge needed to swim around here in the 'pool.

That's probably still true. On the other hand, I've never liked the mediocrity that my chosen nom de post implies. So I've been on the lookout for a name that was - like this forum - creative, Metly, and just slightly off kilter. About a month ago, I was in the gym and there was a Bengals game on in the background, which got me wondering about what kind of a jackass would change his name to a Spanish number.

And then, it hit me. I'm that kind of jackass. Or the former Chad Johnson and I are both that kind of jackass. So, for now and evermore, or at least until I think of an even better name, I shall be known in the CPF as...

Chad Ochoseis

I had some qualms about changing the name, because it means that my post odometer gets rolled back from 367 to zero, and I go from Carlos Gomez back to being Jim, the Monstrously Huge Batboy. But life's like that sometimes.

Happy New Year, all.

Re: New year, new screen name

Having met you in person, I disagree with your assertion of being a jackass.

But your new persona is nonetheless amusing - enjoy it :)

New name duly noted in the who's who thread. Nice to see the mods were able to keep your CPF odometer moving forward.

Indeed. Kong's efforts are most appreciated.

Thanks for the good name-change wishes, all.

Does this mean that you'll be coming up with a new goofy celebration every time you make a BOC?
