Torrealba should hold them over a barrel now. . .it would serve them right for what they did to him two years ago.

This is terrific news. I mean, we'll probably still want for a catcher but geez. Yahoo

Very telling. . .word has to be out there amongst the players that this is a FUBAR organization right now. |

I guess some breaks are going the Mets way this year. I'm liking how this team is coming together so far, still waiting on who are 5th pitcher will be though. I'm also assuming they'll still sign some sort of catcher so I don't have to watch Santos anymore

Talk about fucked up beyond all recognition.

I think the Mets dodged a bullet and I am thankful that Molina chose to accept the Giants offer rather than the Mets.

Ken Davidoff sez that the Mets were concerned about getting hammered by the fan base for not signing Molina. I can't read the whole article due to Newsday's online subscription policy, but here it is:

Giants fans? Loving this.

Especially because they are in a similar situation to us, having a hotshot catching prospect for whom the Molina signing would be dialing back the ETA clock.
Molina is a proven RBI man, and all Posey has done is hit well in the upper minors. We wouldn’t know how Posey would hit until he received playing time in the majors, and we certainly aren’t going to give him playing time in the majors until we know how he’ll hit. That’s how most teams operate, I’m sure.[/quote:1rvrgc2p]
My understanding that it was for a million more with a vesting option for another year, so there was a significant amount of additional teeth to the Mets deal. It's FUBAR I tell ya![/quote:2apavhn1]
