Any Metstock meetups this year? Spring training, perhaps?

Ooh - what about March 21? That would be a great follow-up to the NYC Half Marathon!

OK. So long as it isn't the 30th. Two Boots isn't my location of first choice for the Passover Seder....

Too much Andouille sausage and spicy tomato sauce is actually more of a welcome to the Angel of Death.

Re: Two Boots

Anyone up for a Feb 6 informal hangout? NYC Chapter of the SABR is having their meeting at the Public Library on 5th, a couple of Metly panels are on the agenda.

Re: Two Boots

Yeah I was gonna mention that, I think I will be at the meeting that day and would encourage the rest of yas all to stop by if only to see what it's about. There is usually a fun thing or two to learn and perhaps we can get some adult beverages after or at least lunch during.

Re: Two Boots

The Two Boots where we have the Mets Tuesday nite events is the one on the Lower East Side, at the foot of the Willieburg Bridge.

The other event is the NYC SABR meeting, that's Sat. Feb. 6 at the Mid-Manhattan library, so if anyone'd be interested there's pizza and beer nearby there too.

Nerds.

(We're doing a showery thing on 2/6, unfortunately.)

Baby shower? With men?

Stop it.

You should just conveniently "vanish" and come up to Syracuse and get plotzed with me and sleep on my couch until Fgirl wakes your ass up at 2:30 AM by doing her Bon Scott impression.

I'm not part of the show so much as I'm the roadie. (And some of the husbands/boyfriends and I are going bowling while the ladies play with TP.)

She's quite a Night Prowler, then?

Oh yeah, she's Harvey Two Face. Pleasant and princess-y all day, and grotesque and frightening in the wee hours.

When's your Mrs.' due date again? I'm sure you'll be fine haw haw

That's right at the point that our daughter made her appearance. Be ready any time between now and 7 weeks from now.

Best of luck with everything!

Re: Two Boots

Got a baby coming in the next couple weeks. And I'm a lurker anyway, so it's not like anyone was hotly anticipating my response. But I'll probably be looking to get out to a game sometime in June or July. A pre-game meetup/tailgate arrangement sometime around then sounds mighty inviting.

Bayou Beast: FKA 'The Seafood King' when the first one opened on Avenue A circa 1988.

They have a 'Two Boots' in Bridgeport, CT now so its easier for me to get my occasional Bayou Beast fix. Best cheese fries I've ever had as well.

Trivia: Who can tell me why its called 'Two Boots'?

You should definitely come out some time. If it goes good again, the owner is into a once-a-month schedule, the pizza is usually great and its very Metty in there.

Oh, I'm blowing off SABR today. Sorry.

1) Forecast called for a lotta snow (although there is little!)

2) 7 train not running (pita)

3) Hafta re-paint the bedroom

Threat of snow (with LIRR announcing provisional plans to suspend service in the event it got heavy) daunted me from SABR, too. Could have SABR'd, as it turned out considering it snowed for hours here without much accumulating.

Not repainting the bedroom, however.

I just got an email from Stevie Jeets, he was the only 'pooler to
attend the NYC meeting. Sorry, Steve ... I chose not to attend
because of some chapter silliness that I can't explain publicly.

Re: Two Boots

While I am down for some Two Boots fun, may I suggest McFaddens on 42nd Street and 2nd Avenue. It looks like a cross between an Irish Tavern and a "family" style restaurant. My nomination of it for the meetup though is in honor of it having a location in Citi Field this season.

The 2 Boots thing is on for Tuesday, March 23.

Any interest in a non-Two Boots spring training luncheroo? I think we'd done this at least thrice and maybe 5 times before.

If I'm going to get up to Gotham for the Bootie meetup, it would be best for me if we did a "luncharoo" the weekend before.

I can probably doo luncheroo on the 21st. Any place but ESPNZone --
they can't be trusted television accommodations wise.

That's fine with me, it's close to GCT and subways. We can
all go to the UN after and throw Rogers in the East River.

(just keeping with the tradition, last time we threw him off
the Empire State Building)

42nd and 2nd, it seems. Two long blocks from Grand Central or the 4/5/6/7/S.

Would love to, but I'm-a haveta play it by ear. (Meaning, "We'll see whether LWYP is as cool with pub lunch post-partum as he is in utero.")
