Well, it's not like I DON'T like pencils. I just don't use them as much as I used to... mini golf doesn't count, does it?

I do, and this is the one I use. At work I need to do a fair amount of writing on surfaces that are not flat or horizontal, and a pencil is very useful for that sort of thing. I also used them when I was in school (the most recent time around) - I don't think I ever took notes with a pen.

Use 'em for some stuff, but only if I have the means handy to keep them good and sharp. Can't use a dull pencil and prefer not to even use an even somewhat dull one.

Use them specifically for two things: my paper desk calendar and keeping score at baseball games.

I work in the archives, I have no choice. I've never had much luck with mechanical pencils. Wood pencils are fine by me if they have a sharp point. The only downside is that I can't but them in my pocket without poking myself and/or breaking the tip.

I don't use them. The only exception is crosswords, and then I prefer to use mechanical pencils to the wooden ones.
